Day 22

Project 365

Catch 22. Day 22. Thanks for the help with the idea Stefanie!

She talks with confidence

portraying that She is educated.

She dresses with style

acting as if She has money.

Her words make Her seem

to have a heart of gold and

a true interest in your well-being.

She acts as if She cares...

even going through some of the steps

that a 'concerned person' might take.

She dodges bullets aimed at her

and can easily diffuse a situation

until you feel sorry for her.

You quickly want to believe Her side of the story,

no questions asked....

Until...

it starts to rain..........

With each drop, the paint disappears

until her true side is shown.

Once the rain stops, you see what

has been sitting right in front of you all along.

The paint did nothing more than disguise

the ugliness in her life.

30 Days of Perception - Day 22

Today I was cutting up a red bell pepper to make a savoury dish and I though how this one element of my meal was connected to so many things:

First of all, the pepper comes from Spain, grown by a farmer who makes sure it gets just the right amount of water. The warm sunshine ripens it.

Pickers harvest the peppers when they're ripe. Workers pack them to be transported to stores far and wide. This one certainly travelled by truck with a driver bringing them from Spain to Switzerland.

Then they were stacked in my local store for me by employees in the supermarket. Then I paid for my purchase to the lady at the check-out counter and now I am preparing a meal for myself and sharing it with another person.

So many connections made from the fertile soil in Spain, the sunshine and the rain and a whole chain of people connected to each other, without actually knowing anyone personally. It is thanks to these connections that I am able to put a meal on the table. We all rely and count on each other. We are all connected.

A BIG thank you to Soft for helping with today's!

"Give life's little guys some ink, and when it dries just watch what happens

Those kids will live and breathe right on the page

And once they're center stage, you watch what happens

And who's there with her camera and her pen

As boys turn into men

They'll storm the gates and then just watch what happens when they do"

I took this shot in the morning this day...and ended up with food poisoning at dinner. A wonderful night followed, good times.

I had taken food shots at the restaurant but decided against using them for obvious reasons.

A graveyard shot seems appropriate for how I felt.

It’s our third day with temperatures below freezing! Very unusual for this part of the country.

30 Days of Perception - Day 22 - Silence and Stillness

I feel silence and stillness the best when I'm in nature, preferably in the presence of trees. they emanate serenity.

This is the inside of one of my woven baskets.

I think the light of childhood wonder and limitless dreams are fading from my eyes.

The things that we share in our world are far more valuable than those which divide us.
