Sara making her way up the hill

I'm at my parents place and saw this German Incense burner that my parents still have from my Oma. We figure it has to be at least 50+ years old (thanks to my father's correction below). I used one of my mothers's creations for the background/setting.

An absolutely fantastic exhibition at the Ludwig Museum. A Chinese artist, Chi Peng brought 1150 identical pictures to Budapest to fight the "tacky" goods from China. The phenomanal twist is that visitors could get a picture if they leave something in exchange. Wonderful, engaging. Brilliant idea.

When I posted a photo of my first camera a week ago, someone asked if it had used flash bulbs. It did. I don't have the flash attachment, but I do have bulbs that I found among my dad's things. One of these was used for each shot. Photos were expensive when you added the cost of these to film and processing.

It's frickin' cold out there...with windchill I think we're down to -43'C...so it seemed only natural that the tropical gear would come out so i could pretend that I'm on that cruise I was supposed to be on right now...next year baby, next year!

Looking for help with your 365? Come over and join the Hereios!!

even more off subject, i still like the flash on this one.

人造與自然光的妥協

Well it's already the end of 3 weeks of trying to do a self portrait a day. I really do have some good ideas but many of them require the use of the PSE program and I don't feel like I have the skills required yet. I am learning so soon I hope to have more exciting pics for the project.

Today I am settling for this poorly lit and slightly out of focus picture of me.

Is this embellishment/element big enough? LOL! I drew this tree trunk on a 12x12 piece of chipboard (from the back of a pad of scrapbook paper), cut it out while waiting for the kids to get out of school, base coated it with a soft brown paint, then used Crackle Medium and top coated it with a dark brown paint. Then I covered the back with pop dots and stuck it down to a piece of Summery patterned paper. I cut out leaves too but didn’t want to haul out all of my different paints so I used a package of Prima leaves and added them with some more pop dots. Basically, I just played and I’m thrilled with the way it turned out.
