161/365: 2015
One of those days again today, really busy, so a last minute panic to get my photo done. I've done similar pics with purple powder so it's not exactly original but at least I got my photo done! I would be really stumped sometimes, without my craft stash!
today, 1/2/2020, is world introvert day.

I tried to arrange these flowers in a heart but you will have to imagine it or tilt your head to make it work. This morning the sunlight was coming in through the window so I tried to work with what I had. My husband gave me this bouquet of wooden roses about a week ago when we went for a walk together. Sometimes you just know you are loved and this was one of those times.
On another note, today is my birthday!

Testing out the new point & shoot at the Auto Levels to evaluate the image quality. Seems to be a bit better than the LUMIX. Did do some post-processing.

I can no longer recall why I decided to shoot the swans at 16mm with the lens close to the water . . . it looked like fun at the time!
From WikiPedia: The Round Pond is a pond in Kensington Gardens, London, in front of Kensington Palace. It is, however, not at all round, but more like a square with protuberances at the corners.
Today I had lunch with my Father-in law who's really like my dad . A couple of the men from our mid-day bible study class took us out for Father's Day. We went his favorite fish spot in Harlem called " A Taste of Seafood". I took this image of him while we waited for the food and talked about my latest photo gig (I love this guy). He's taught me so much (especially by example) about being a father and a man of God. Day161/365 #365project - I call him Daddy
in the scottish tradition, good luck will come to the household whose first guest across the treshhold after midnight is a tall dark-haired man. the gifts that first person bring could from left to right- coins (silver), drink/whiskey, salt, evergreen, bread and coal. according to wikipedia they stand for financial prosperity, good cheer, flavour, long-life, food and warmth.

A page from my grandfather's diary. The photograph is of his Belgian friend Doctor Charette, a veterinarian, and the doctor's dog "John." Grandpa stayed with the Charette family for a while in 1919 at the end of WWI.
I was excited to read my grandfather's description of the battle site, which I will be seeing myself later this month.

"...it is something to have been on a spot immortalized by such a conflict as this Waterloo -- one of the 15 great battles of the world; immortalized by the presence of Napoleon and Ney, Wellington and others; immortalized by the poems of Lord Byron and the books of Victor Hugo, and the paintings of masters."

Another day of hiking - 12 miles from Margate to Herne Bay via the Reculver Towers. It was a fantastically relaxing day - if a bit hot. But it was great to get out of the City and be by the coast.

My positive thinking / staying optimistic in trying times did wonders in a situation where the outcome would be beyond my control. I’m so glad I made it through! I believe I have proven my worth at my workplace and will continue to do so. For me - hard work, optimism and pragmatism go hand in hand. Thank you dear friends for your wonderful wishes and prayers.
Have a wonderful day/night my friends! Hang in there, the weekend is just around the corner :)
Day 161 - Objects in the Mirror
"Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear" - A car Mirror
I finally way able to use my car again... yeah! In Germany you are required by law to have winter tires on your car when there is snow, so I couldn't use my car the last couple of weeks. Not a big deal, but it is nice to be mobile again.
I have to give credit to Martin for the Idea to this shot, he came up with the concept of shooting car mirrors, even though I am not going to go ahead and make a serie out of it (I hope he does! - You here me Martin!).

My project365 photo, Day 161, 4th Oct 07.
I found this beautiful moth trapped on the inside on a window, in my building.
I thought it was dead already, but when I picked it up it moved. When I held it towards the open window, it started to flutter its wings.
This was taken just before take-off:-)
It was the last day of classes for students. Tomorrow is our last official day of work.
Let summer shine!
Very early today, I couldn't sleep and this song kept swimming in my head
"When the sun is high in the afternoon sky
You can always find something to do
But from dusk till dawn as the clock ticks on
Something happens to you
In the wee small hours of the morning
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
You lie awake and think about _________(fill the blank) = Life
And never ever think of counting sheep"

Dear Makayla,
It’s just moving too fast. Like a movie scene. When everything is moving around faster than your eyes can focus; like being on an amusement park ride and everything around you just becomes a blur. That’s what things have become like. A blur.
He pushes you away and he gives you too much to the point where you want to go away. It’s just too much. Too much happening too fast. Slow things down, Makayla.
Always,
Your Mind
Haha, get it? Love? In the air? Literally. Lol :p
I had an amazing day with Nickie. Like I always do<3

The top right-hand titmouse photo was taken today. The other gems were taken in May. I seem to get a few of these everyday!
For my ongoing bird-a-day project for 2017. Thanks all!
