I decided to make my own Advent calendar about neo Black Falcon. I hope you will enjoy during 24 days ! Today the entrance of the red goblin cave.
Project365 Day13.
Another rainy day made the search for the picture of the day more difficult. I was standing on a pile of ants while taking this picture and I was thinking the mosquitoes are attacking me, turn out that stepping on them will just force them to let you know where you are - the present moment.

about three condos down from our place on the beach was a cattle egret rookery. On our first walk on the beach, I saw an area of standing water amongst mangroves and knew it had to be a treasure trove-- and when i went over I saw tons of white birds sitting in the trees! A bit more exploring the next day and I found some good vantage points, and a nest with two juveniles!! I have "technically" better photos of these two babies where there is much less blown out area, but the expression on the ones face is so priceless! They weren't too sure about moving out of the nest, and this one was not at all graceful, but luckily he could reach his neck over the branch at catch himself before he tumbled down.
We headed north from Swakopmund along the coast road past substantial
block style houses. Surrounded by no vegetation they appeared bleak. To
add colour the water tanks on stilts were painted rainbow shades.
The Kingswood then headed inland towards the tin mine at Uis. This was
barren rocky desert, reminiscent of Mongolia but we had a gravel road to
follow. We stopped to give Paul a hand, his front stabilizer bar broken.
Yes the trip was starting to take its toll on cars. Jose and Maria's car
had been repaired overnight and they were on the road again. Ralph and
Holly's jag has numerous problems. The more modern 4WD of the Ward's
having lots of tyre problems, they are competing with Rudi (Alvis) for
"the most flats in a day award" The Namibians recognize old Holdens,
having been sold into South Africa. " Good bit of kit man!" We are told
to look out for them in the villages.
Heading towards Twyfelfontein you drop into oasis areas of green trees,
to our surprise in one of these, a group of elephants was drinking at a
waterhole. Having been told desert elephants are aggressive I was
photographing them from the road, a local who said he had seen lots of
elephants but not so many old cars. He told me I was safe to get closer
and I had to inform him I was more nervous of his DOG than the
elephants!
The last stop for the day was at the Twyfelfontein rock paintings,
engraved by the San people 3000 years ago.
Sadly Ralph's Jag has to be shipped back to Cape Town. Holly is looking
forward to a 4wd hire car, air conditioning and enjoying the tour.
Day Six
A bright early morning faded as a chilly fog rolled in. The drive
commenced across plains of swaying sun bleached grass, our road
enveloped in fog and clouds of dust. Our fellow travelers included boys
on donkeys and carts commuting between villages. Crossing the Huab River
plains we came to a medal section, a 20km climb over the granite
Grootberg Pass. A stretch that would have tested ATA the Kingswood
enjoyed. Not overheating by the top enables the photographer to get out
and take a few shots while the driver provides water for radiators in
need. It was a rugged wild meeting point for us all to enjoy a break and
gossip. News is Roger and Maggie are to join the hire vehicle class.
They figured this out when the wheel of the MG Magnette sailed past and
landed on the bonnet.
Across Damarland we headed towards Etosha. We sopped at Kamajab for
fuel. A petrol station/supermarket was the only permanent building of
this isolated outpost. The small market sold all variety of camping,
automobile, food and clothing and was frequented by tourist and local
alike. You know you are in Africa when the traditionally dressed Nama
woman drops by to purchase bread and milk. A fine layer of clay and
woven grass protected her from the sun's rays.
The eco friendly tented camp at Anderson's was a welcome relief. The
communal area of gabion stone construction and twig pergola was a lovely
setting adjacent to a waterhole that attracted the animals of Etosha.
Perfect! Comfy chairs, a G&T and a passing parade of Springbok, Zebra
Giraffe and late at night a rhino to admire.
Day Seven
It is the early bird that catches the worm and sees the lion of Etosha
Reserve. Even I considered the 5.30 am start to the day worthwhile. We
felt like Noah taking inventory, zebra, giraffe, gnu, oryx, rhino,
guinea fowl, jackal. Unfortunately the cheetah and Leopold played hide.
Cute bush squirrel emerged from their burrow deep within a pot hole. At
Gemsbokulate water hole a family of lon had taken possession of the
water. Hundreds of zebra, kudu and springbok waited at a safe distance
for their chance to drink. A life and death game of dare, viewed from
vehicular safety. An animal would move closer only to have each motion
countered . The spectators keen to view gladiatorial animal hierarchy
inwardly shouting "kill, kill, kill" The lion more patient than us
deciding to wait until a weakened prey was spotted.
A smorgasbord of animals jostling for position. From the cloud of dust
in the distance emerged a herd of elephant to state their dominant claim
to the waters edge. It was amazing to see such a diverse large group of
animals in one place sharing the scarce commodity.
Driving east we viewed the salt pan wondering what this area would look
like in a few months when the rains arrived?
The hotel Mokuti Lodge was pleasant enough, marred only by the large
numbers of mosquito laying in wait.
Day Eight
Along the M1 for donkey carts we travelled towards the Okavango River.
120km of gravel and the some welcome tarmac, Michael and Jen's Porsche
356 back in its element. The road was straight and flat linking hundreds
of small settlements. Bundles of blonde straw have been delivered in
preparation for new thatching to protect from the approaching wet
season. Not only are the huts thatched but the straw reeds are also
used as fencing around groups of huts to provide some protection from
the wildlife.
We arrive at DiVaVa Okavango Lodge in time for a sunset cruise to Popa
Falls(rapids) viewing crocodile and hippopotamus. I most enjoyed the
spectacle of the families going about their lives on the waters edge.
Fishing with nets and line, washing clothes and bodies and kids playing
their life linked to the water. Just days earlier a mother and child had
been killed by crocodile at the falls area.
We were entertained by the local school in the evening, drums, whistles
and the most amazing dancing. Grass skirted bottoms shaking and swaying
at darting speed with a shoulder rock that denies human physiology. ( A
new move fro Mel and the pilates class)
Day Nine
We travelled the length of the Caprivi Strip past many tiny villages.
Taking care for elephant along the road. It is interesting to travel
along this finger of Namibian land that runs between Angola and
Botswana. Set up by the Germans to link East to West it has seen much
military activity.
We crossed the border into Botswana and drove through Chobe.
The late afternoon river cruise was fabulous...... just see the photos!

Bene!
————————————————
Well!
- now I can't use the left wrist and hand;
- now my left arm is like a Miss Olympia's one;
- I finished the paint before to paint the second time (woo hoo for the semi-washable paint that absorbs too much!)
- when I went into the store for re-buying it and asked "I want paint" the salesman replied "do you want the color that is on your hands?" -.- '
- I'm a bit sad today and the pain of my legs and arms does not help me!
- next time I will call the "Paint-man" T_T

January, 25th: Blood: Bronwyn received her first blood transfusion as her red blood cell count was low. I have always felt a sense of dread about the prospect of a transfusion. That dread melted away at the sight of the dark red bag hanging on Bronwyn's IV pole. This gift from a stranger means health to Bronwyn. Later that evening she did perk up enough to have a video chat with family.
This is a photo of where i used to walk all the time on my way to school and home, that day was just amazing.
Source is my instagram that's why EXIF won't work
Me-made: Mohair shrug, improvised design
Me-made: modified Burda '90s top
I love shrugs for the summer. This one was originally knitted for my daughter and lately appropriated by me, after she abandoned it as being old and small. I don't mind the 7/8 sleeves :)))
I got a job today! I was a bit late with the picture it was a very hectic day. First day training, running in the rain, and going to the gym. So yea, an all natural shot with my crazy puffy hair and no make up haha.
I love this design! After I lifted it from Jodie, I read further in her comments and discovered she lifted it from Barb Wong! Thanks to both ladies for the inspiration-
I finally dug into the BG Archaic again - I use it mostly for Jack-playing-in-the-dirt layouts, so I was glad to find a new use for it. TFL!
The layout I lifted:
