Day 13 of our road trip. This is the Blue Lake in Mt Gambier, South Australia. If you filled a bottle with this water it looks exactly the same as you see here.
Today's theme in the #HalloweenCostumeChallenge is Goth and I had to visit the updated Ironwood Hills for their halloween event!
Make sure you follow Cat and Kore for their versions of today's theme!
We tuck him into his stroller and walk the neighborhood. He is beyond excited that Baker and grandpa both come along. I don't know what this is, but it was blooming and the sky was blue and the sun was out and I was out walking with my grandson and life was good.
[day13]
Day 13 of the big freeze, it wasn't until after the sun went that the temperature actually rose above 0ºc for the first time in about two weeks.
Today I sold my Canon XTi along with Sigma 17-70 :( It was the best camera and lens I have. I learned my photography with this cam and I owe a lot to this XTi. Now, It feels bad that I'am parting away from my camera…I love my Cam!
Raghu was so happy, he was at my home in the morning to pick this baby. Take care of it buddy and wish you happy clicking :)
Com completely wrong here, but I have learnt if I want shots of them doing there own thing, then I don't move them! Or else the moment is gone.
@ ISO 1600.. why I have no idea. Not a huge amount of light. But I was siting with a big window @ my back.
Looking at this again, there is something wrong with the conversion, but I cant put my finger on it.. any CC welcome as I like the moment so would like to be able to save it.
Shot on iPhone 6.
The direct drive from Thredbo to Melbourne is about six hours - but where's the fun in that? We took the more scenic Alpine Way through the Victorian Alps and discovered some wonderful towns along the way, including Beechworth where this was taken. I once read a book called The Victorian Internet about how the Telegraph was in many ways a forerunner of the Net, including the subcultures that it has. Not sure the Telegraph had a flickr. The history geek in me likes the sign of how news items were sent (thanks to the North Americans for sending that ice) - and you could actually choose to send a telegraph by morse still today.
Anyway, the long scenic route meant 13 hours of driving so I'll be catching up on your streams tomorrow.
item collaboration: day 13/31 -- "mirror"
Cliche shot, but I take shots like this all the time, haha. I had fun with my fisheye in this one :P
Here's my paragraph answering all of the questions you guys asked in one of my previous photos! :D I'll do it in two separate parts because otherwise the caption for this photo would be ridiculously long :P
PART 1: Answers related to my photography
HOW IT ALL BEGAN:
My love for photography started when I started following Tumblrs that had really wonderful photos :P I've also been a camera whore since I got my very first camera, a little Canon Powershot A620 that lasted me for a good 6 years. My dad got me my DSLR a couple of months ago for my birthday, and that's when I REALLY started getting into photography as a major hobby.
MY FAVORITE SHOT:
Out of all my favorite photos, I gotta say that I REALLY liked THIS one for some reason. I really love the way I did the text, haha.
MY INSPIRATION:
As for inspiration for my photos, some of it comes from any photos I've favorited on Flickr or Tumblr, or just whatever comes to mind when I see something and take a shot of it. I take a lot of shots of one particular thing, and then when I upload them I usually edit 2-3 of them and out of those three editations I choose which one I really like the best.
MY EDITING:
When I edit photos, I've used three different programs (iPhoto, Adobe Photoshop CS4, and Lightroom), but for awhile now I've been favoring CS4.
When using PS4, my usual procedure for editing photos is:
1) mess with the curves
2) change the color balance
3) change the exposure to get amazing tones <3 :P
4) sharpen or add noise (grain)
I hope any of you guys found this at least a little bit interesting! Haha :P

Hat: Calvin Klein
Scarf: Vendor at the State Fair
Cardigan: Target
Orange Sweater: Ann Taylor
Grey Tee: Target
Leggings: New York & Co.
Boots: MIA
Gave myself one little cheat for warmth's sake...just the grey tee, but who knew I'd get stuck in the ice storm overnight and end up wearing this same outfit two days in a row! But I'm counting it anyway!
This is totally my M.O -- camera in my hand. ;-) Plus, lately neutral colors (often black and/or grey) with a pop of color is my M.O. (and BTW, the pops might look red, but they are orange and pink)! Orange is always my M.O. and so are washi, flair and machine stitching. I am pretty sure I would kill for any of those things, however. ;-)
