The middle house is slightly more traditional 1930s, with ther pagoda roofed bay and porch. All the houses have unpainted chimneys
Dashed out with the a6000, no SD card so the Sony video would be better anyway.

I escaped from work on Saturday morning and dashed across to Healey House to try and Catch John Myers four motors on their way to join the Meltham War Weekend parade. I got there with a minute to spare, unfortunately, as on a previous occasion, it was difficult to catch the old motors without modern ones stuck between or behind the slow moving wagons. Having got what I could I drove in to Meltham and wandered around taking photos until the parade at 12.30. I ended up staying until 3.00-still in my filthy work clothes. The original plan was to go home and change but I'd got myself a handy parking place and due to my dodgy ankle not lending itself to walking far I decided to stay put. It was very dull until around 1.00 and then someone switched the sun on and it was a glorious afternoon. It certainly seemed to be very busy, it deserved to be as there was an awful lot going on, obviously a lot of hard work behind it so well done to the organisers. I took around 300 shots and I will upload in batches as I have time, at the time of writing (Fri) they are all edited.
Suddenly Kumiho dashed back into the room and put a giant ice cream sundae in front of Kitsune.
"Eat this, sweetheart! I made it just for you!", he said with a giant smile.

Thanks to the SFMTA for adding green pavement to improve visibility of bikeways and avoid conflicts at key points like this one on Grove Street. The SF Bicycle Coalition has been working with the SFMTA to get green pavement on key bike routes across the city.
This sunrise was followed by an all-day snowstorm. Dashed outside in cotton pajamas and bare feet to catch the light before it faded. Temperature minus 20 with windchill. Brrr! After a few minutes the WB went crazy, posibly due to cold. Four shots in the series. This one and the next are WB corrected, otherwise unprocessed. First two here and here are jpegs straight from the camera, no processing. #P2120198

Day 20.
I dashed home at lunchtime to be in for a man who was fitting a window (we have a double-glazed one with a broken seal), and the traffic was bad. Turns out there'd been a bad accident on the motorway near where I live and when that happens traffic gets diverted through this town and ends up gridlocked.
What I hadn't expected was that it would be worse tonight when I left work at 5.30. This is the view in my wing mirror and it took 15 minutes to get from my work carpark to the roundabout at the end of that road (a 2 minute walk and I'd say 200yds or so to drive, but the traffic was just not moving).
I eventually got home 2 hours later (it's 5 miles and normally takes around 15 minutes at this time of night).
It turns out two guys were killed on the motorway - I've heard various stories but not seen the news. Either they were killed crossing the carriageway, or were killed after their truck broke down and was hit by a lorry. I'll watch the news in a short while and see what really happened. My neighbour tells me the motorway won't be re-opened till 9am tomorrow, so I think I'll have to start out earlier in the morning.
Dashed over to Cuckfield after church to get some snaps of the cars coming through. There are some lovely autumn colours down that road at the moment. At that time it decided to pour with rain so I stood for about 10 minutes with an umbrella and camera in the rain and got a few shots. Fortunately the drivers were prepared for the weather.

After walking through Wessenden the other night I could see the possibility of a bit of sunset colour. As the sky turned orange we dashed up Mount Road to Pule Hill. Three para-gliders were flying in the setting sun and came into land over my head. Simon from Mountain Feet in Marsden was one of them I think. as the sun dipped it turned the underside of a bank of cloud deep orange, it looked as though it was on fire. Shooting the other way - to the East - over Deer Hill, the colours were a bit less dramatic but still good. I've missed two great sunsets recently being busy doing other things. I only had the G1X with me but it did the job. I had to de-saturate the colours a little to avoid things looking unreal.

Teens dashed and dodged in a Hunger Games-themed game of Nerf Dart Tag at the Livonia Civic Center Library on July 24, 2013. Dart Tag was part of the Library's "Surviving The Summer" Teen Summer Reading Program.
A moment where everyone dashed to get the ball, I was well pleased with the sharp picture and expressions!
(Sorry about missing a day, normally it's just because I forget but this time it was due to my computer's PSU blowing out!)

As WWII ended, hopes of a brave new world in peace were quickly dashed as "an Iron Curtain descended across Europe" and the Chinese civil war that had been brewing even through WWII exploded into Communist insurrection and China came under Mao's vision. This in turn drew battle lines as Korea split along similar lines and the intended world policeman of the UN turned into the Western Allies versus Communist nations. Much WWII equipment fought the conflict: Hellcats only as unturrreted utility carriers but Chaffees, Shermans and other armour in their original roles. A display during Tankfest 2023 at The Tank Museum, Bovington Camp, Dorset saw the WWII vehicles continue while post-war new tanks were added and the opposition's WWII T-34/85 shown here was introduced. The T-34 was the USSR's main tank chassis of WWII, being up-gunned from a 76 to an 85 mm gun during the war with only such other modifications as would improve combat performance (so as not to interfere with production.) Post war it began to be supplied to the USSR's Communist allies and vassal states as these were integrated into the Communist monolith.

I dashed across Lewis last week when we got off the ferry. I didn't get the sunset I hoped for but it was still amazing.

While dinner was cooking I dashed outside to take a shot of some dandelions (because the front part of our property is somewhat overgrown at the moment and the weeds are having a field day!) I then got totally sidetracked and ended up taking a shot of one of our many termite infested fenceposts. It was around this time I heard a couple of loud explosions and the power went off. Not much I could do about the half cooked dinner so chatted to the neighbour instead - and to cut a long story a bit shorter, I ended up cooking my half cooked meal next door on their gas cooker. We have great neighbours!!
