Taken after a very short hike off a dirt road. Brought my 40mm pancake on a Pentax k-30.
The falls were brightly lit with a high sun, so I limited the field of view to the lower portion of the falls, the primary pool, and the area flowing over the rocks, which was all evenly lit. It was all I could do to get a slow enough shutter to get the desired effect, but still pleased with the results.
Post-processed from RAW with Darktable.
I re-processed this photo from a couple of days ago, using Darktable. It has quite a different look - more real, I think.

One of the many pictures taken yesterday in our experiment with Arduino powered photography. The Arudino board was programmed to detect when the air rifle was shot and 15 ms later fire the flash.
Shot through the window of this room from the outside. Looked as if the roof might cave in entirely.
Processing a photo of a snow leopard in darktable. Due to the light, cage wire, and not noticing the leopard had got up to walk until quite late, the base photo was a bit dingy and had haze on part of it and a lack of contrast. With darktable and heavy use of local adjustments I was able to make quite a few improvements. The split on the left shows an earlier stage where I'd already applied a few adjustments, but it could still be improved. I also then finished up the image in GIMP with a bit of cloning to tidy up the background.
My father became the second owner of this 1972 Mercedes Benz 300SEL 4.5 in 1976 when it had 26k miles on the odometer. It has not seen a winter since 1976, and has not been driven on the road since 2009. Now the car shows only 65k miles on the odo.
I became the third owner in 2013, but even after 6 years, I have still not gotten back on the road. It was my father's car -- the one that I grew up with. I love it, but it is still not MY car. While I love MBs, my passion is for vintage volvos and Bug-eye Subaru WRXs.
So the car sits, waiting for a new owner. I'll keep the memories and photos, and let someone else enjoy it.
