Batara Kala is the god of the underworld in traditional Javanese and Balinese mythology, ruling over it in a cave along with Setesuyara.Batara Kala is also named the creator of light and the earth. He is also the god of time and destruction, who devours unlucky people. He is related to Hindu concept of Kala, or time. In mythology, he causes eclipses by trying to eat the Sun or the Moon.
Origin myth
According to legend, Batara Kala is the son of Batara Guru (the Javanese version of Shiva). Batara Guru has a very beautiful wife named Dewi Uma (Parvati). One day Batara Guru, in a fit of uncontrolled lust, forced himself on Dewi Uma. They had sexual intercourse on top of his vahana Nandi, a divine cow. This behavior ashamed Uma, who cursed both of them so they appeared as fearsome and ugly ogres. This fierce form of Dewi Uma is also known in Hinduism as Durga. From this relationship, Batara Kala was born with the appearance of an ogre.
Another origin story is that he was conceived when a drop of Shiva's semen was swallowed by a fish.
Batara Kala is described as having an insatiable appetite and being very rude. He was sent by the devas to Earth to punish humans for their evil habits. However, Batara Kala was interested only in devouring humans to satisfy his appetite. Alarmed, the devas then recalled Batara Kala from the Earth.He later became ruler of the underworld, together with the goddess Setesuyara.
Traditionally, Javanese people try to obtain his favor, as the god of time and destruction, to prevent misfortune, especially to children. Exorcism ceremonies, called ruwatan, are held for children born under "unlucky" circumstances, such as being born feet-first. This is to prevent such children from being devoured by Batara Kala. This ceremony usually includes a wayang (Javanese shadow puppets) performance and a selamatan feast.
Eclipse myth
In Javanese mythology, Batara Kala is the cause of the solar and lunar eclipses. As the god of darkness and the underworld, Batara Kala is the sworn enemy of the god of the Moon, Batara Candra and god of the Sun, Batara Surya. Sometimes he will try to devour the Sun or Moon, causing an eclipse. When this eclipse happens, Javanese villagers will try to save the Sun or Moon by offering sacrifices and banging lesung (traditional rice hulling equipment) or slit drums, to cause noise and make Batara Kala vomit. This is thought to release the Sun or Moon and stop the eclipse.

Feeling trapped ? Don't be.
Sometimes we make ripples in the dark scared to speak out for fear of the consequences whilst we wait for the next wave from the light to shake us all up.
We may then choose to ride off into the light out of the cave without fear on the crest of that wave
As the wave moves away the the ripples return for those left behind who choose to stay trapped until the right way appears not knowing which one it is.
For those who break free the colours of life will return that are never seen in the darkness
Consciousness is rising like the tides which brings the waves to our rescue
Mankind get off your knees and ride the next wave then we do not have to live in fear any more.
I think i will make this the last on in the series of captures from poole harbour and a misty sunset end. Beautiful yet eerie.

"Roadside Picnic"
Right at their feet the road into the quarry began, torn up many years ago by the treads and wheels of heavy vehicles. To the right was a white steep slope, cracked by the heat; the next slope was half excavated, and among the rocks and rubble stood a excavator, its lowered bucket jammed impotently against the side of the road. And, as was to be expected, there was nothing else to be seen on the road, except for the black twisted stalactites that looked like fat candles hanging from the jagged edges of the slope, and a multitude of black splotches in the dust, as though someone had spilled bitumen. That was all that was left of them, it was even impossible to tell how many there had been. Maybe each splotch represented a person, or one of Buzzard's wishes...
Had a chance to reprocess this image from scratch using the RAW files converted to TIFF, then stacked, then stitched in CS5.1. I have also used a tighter crop and now feel the relationship between the image elements is better balanced. I've darkned the image slightly but increased the highlights on key features like the Opera House and Office building faces.
Now quite happy with this. Missed the arrival of the Queen Mary 2 but came away with an image that I preconceived, shot and processed and it now looks kind of like how I imagined it would this morning when I was setting up my tripod.
Still contemplating getting rid of the bridge. What do you think?

this was not soo good we saw a droideka blaze want to shoot immediately that was not good so the droideka saw us when blaze shoot to him the survivors are after the gate where Ash defend them the survivors are fine but the droideka hit mine arm

This is a result of 2 hours and 30 minutes taking over 2700 pictures of the Sunset and whats come after. All pictures is taken with ISO 1600, F4 and automated shutter time. This to make sure all pictures are with ok lightning. In the start is is 2s between all shots, but later on as the darknes come, the shutter time increases, and in the end it is about 10s between the shots.
It is a challange to make a TimeLaps to Flickr as you only have 90s on you to get it all done. But I feel I managed it this time.
Also in the end of this movie, lock at the sky, there is a strange object crossing the sky, an UFO object. I don't know what it is, maybee you know? You can see it the 3 last seconds.
If you wonder how you take TimeLaps like this then I will try to explain it here:
- Camera: Nikon D90
- Lens Sigma 10-20mm (wideangle lens)
- ISO 1600 (to get short locking time and colors)
- Opening 4,0
- Locker Set on "A" on the Camera (Automated).
- Tome between pictures 1s - 10s
- Number of shots: 2700+ shots.
- Time used: 2+ hours
- Temperature: -1 C
- Time: 17:45-20:15
- Pictures per frame: 30
