If water had emotions, I think it would be happiest on the move. This is from a trip up Little Cottonwood Canyon back in May.

I took this behind one of the rest areas in Washington. As I looked at this picture later, I could imagine some large predator patiently waiting for a rabbit or maybe a deer.

The last picture from my project series to "forest and fog" or "fog and forest"? No matter, it's giant fun. Both walking in the foggy winter forest as well as the photographing. I am very happy when the pictures also liked one or the other. Enjoy your time, makes the best of it and stays healthy.

I saw some small pawn prints in the mud. There was a big K9 paw marks next to bicycle marks. I Knew that the small one where of a fox.... taking in consideration that I know that there is a fox burrow somewhere. 2 years ago I took a random pic of the opposite place from here and when I zoomed in I saw a red fox figure watching me....There was so much vegetation back then ( in the summer) that I couldn't go and check it out. I took some visits to this place a few times and did not see the fox, until today. Like I said I saw 2 types of pawn prints. I followed it and when I looked up I saw a small reddish figure crossing the road... Got yah, by the time I arrived at the place I saw the fox, The cyclist and his german-sheperd returned ( the bigger pawns and the bicycle tires ).... I went after the fox but....the vegetation is full of similar colored leafs... and i just couldn't see it. I could bet it would see me.. but I.... no. I really hope that we would get some snow this year so I can see it better. I sense you fox.. I will find you and shoot you ( photographically ) . I have a picture of a fox, but not a good one of it.

A wonderful atmosphere, total peace and quiet and super clear air. So, leave your car behind, put on sturdy shoes and go hiking.

I put my project fog in the forest or better forest in the fog .... I do not know .... Continue. For some weather types, it is sometimes just short periods that stay for photographing. Whether sunrises or sunsets, certain lighting situations or just this fog. Yesterday, I said that this atmosphere reminds me very much about the fairy tales of the Brüder Grimm: A visit to the "Grimmwelt" in Kassel is definitely worth learning more about these interesting brothers and their work. Enjoy it.

So nice it is to hike in the fog on an early morning, so depressing is to see that - because of dryness and bark beetle - huge areas of the forest have to be picked up. That's so scary like the mood in the picture.

I will continue this week part 2 of my project forest, fairy tale and fog. Why? On the one hand, because I like the topic. On the other hand, because I sought the protection against wind and rain in the forest tomorrow at my long-distance course. And again enjoyed this fantastic peace and atmosphere. So these long training runs are a real pleasure!

It depends of kind of organism you are...trees could be a whole universe, a toothpick or a toilet paper.

This week is probably my "week of the forest" ;-). This transitional period between winter, the snow has disappeared, and spring offers a great interplay between cold at night and milder temperatures per day - combined with many rainfall. This apparently offers a fogging a wonderful basis. A great mood that can form in the forest thus.

This awesome forest is situated north of Helsinki. The oldest trees are some 150-160 years.

I hope everyone enjoys this image! :D

"Ignoramus et ignorabimus" (e.h. du Bois-reymond). In the short term, it may be due to the bounded rationality that this statement applies. But in the medium term to long term, I think, as a friend of the Enlightenment ("Sapere Aude"! - Dare to Be Wise! "(I. Kant)) and science, that many things can be rational and scientifically explained. For the unclear things, it needs still some time until they can be scientifically explained in the future.

On the edge of the dark forest, what lies there?

Who doesn't know it when hiking in the mountains? In many places and corners you come across cows and cattle running freely.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die."

A foggy morning near Oakland Oregon. Parked my truck and took a walk out past the rest area.

Gorgeous! How intense the fresh green of the young beech leaves is. A lovely sight. It smells wonderful, the birds are chirping. This spirit of optimism in spring is simply brilliant.

It has become too mild for us again. Roads sometimes stand for life: sometimes it goes up, sometimes down, then it is very varied, then again and again just straight, sometimes they are in good condition, sometimes as holey as Swiss cheese. Anyway, have a nice weekend.

I am - even in my second week of the fog forest project - always thrilled and even fascinated how incredibly dense and intense the fog has been a few days ago. In this context, I remember the magnificent song of The Velvet Underground: "Foggy Notion". Great band, great song! Listen to it.

The fog wafts through the valleys and hang over the mountain peaks. Only a few more hours and the rays of the sun make their way through these thick fog fields. Lovely!

it really was a bit eerie here, no sound, just stillness, no birds, animals, critters etc., only the dark dead looking forest, I did not dare go any further into it...lol ...

Deep in the forest....🌲🌲🌲

Actually, the winter was already over, but such a few stubborn snowflakes could not leave it and sought her way to earth.
