A fleeting patch of strong sunshine on Mary's Bridge on a swollen Hudeshope Beck. Taken on a very windy morning as the remnants of Storm Kathleen pass through.
The rainy season has brought many beautiful sunsets and I got it again, this time coming up with a panoramic view from my terrace. A mixture of orange sunset time with dark clouds,
As we toured around the extensive wetlands, the clouds came over and rays of sun broke through on to the dead trees that inhabit the landscape. With the 30 degree temperatue, clouds and lightning, it was a bit surrealist but magical place.
The sun was barely visible today and it was cloudy and overcast on a short walk but did not rain. Very cold after some lovely warm weather a few days ago. It was Friday the 13th!
Well, another storming is coming to the Bay Area. So I went to check out the sunset scenery at our local wildlife refuge this evening. As I was approaching this footbridge in the marshland, I saw this dark clouds looming above. Then this song by Simon & Garfunkel came to my head.
Kidnapping.....
Well, this is how it goes:
A man, calls a phone number at random.
"Hi, I've got your son, and I'm going to kill him if you do not transfer the money to my account now...
And he passes the phone to the alleged victim.
Crying like a bad wolf, the "victim" tells the person on the other line.
"Dad, dad, I love you, they'll kill me if you don't give them the money"...
Desperate the dad asks the person on the other end, is that you Charlie, or Peter or Alex...
Now, the kidnapper has the person's name and he proceed to emotionally abuse you, in this case my Dad...
Give me the money, give me the money...
And they hold you on the phone, while mentally abussing you...
At this point, if you're not mentally prepared, you'll give to them all your money, and as you can see, the person was never the person that they supposely had in their possession...
In this case, my father was so worried because He's son was flying back to Brasil that morning, that he went to the bank, deposited the money that he didn't have (it was mine), and discarded the receipt, as he was told to do so...
The good thing is that my brother now knows how much He's loved,
It's a very common practice in Brasil, so guys be aware if you ever go down there...
My Dad now knows how to behave in a situation like that:
We told him to do so ...
Hi, I've got your son, please send me the money to this bank account ...
Wich son do you have in your possession, and they will not say it off course...
Is it Charlie?
"Are you Charlie"?
Yes Dad, yes dad ...
Ok?
Ok? ...
(Off course, He does not have any son named Charlie)....
The phone goes back to the kidnapper ...
Sir, Sir, please do me a favor, kill this nonaofabitch, this motherbrother is not good, please kill him fast, do me this big favor, this son of mine is good for nothing....
Give me your bank account, and I'll send you some money, just for the favor ....
Or ...
"My friend, I'm sorry, go look for the real father, I'm gay, I don't have any children ....."
And everyone will be happy ever after....
Now, its ashame that the Fedral Police does not get involved, and this sort of a crime does not get the Federal attention as it deserves.
In this day and age, with account numbers, banks with cameras it would be so easy to catch this kind of people, and put them away for a while ....
You may recall the photo I posted a few days ago of wonderful puffy white clouds against a blue sky. This photo was taken 17 minutes later with my back to Lake Ontario looking up Bronte Creek. We made it into Sobeys to do our shopping just as the rain started.

Dark days ahead for many of the barns in the Ottawa area as many are making room to urban sprawl. I was trying to get a dark, gloomy mood, and I may have overdone it. Still I like the effect.

This was avery strange day ... it was gorgeous out, but very windy and cloudy. The sky was very interesting all that day.

A heavy thundery downpour approaches Hutton Magna from the south west.
The Emerson Basin is at the bottom of "art hill" upon which rests the St Louis Art Museum.All are located in Forest Park, St Louis Mo. Forest Park has been named the best city park in the country by USA Today .

As soon as I captured the rainbow, another storm had just arrived. I captured the looming dark clouds before they dumped heavy rain on me.
