Our Severe Weather seasons is coming to a close. One last severe weather setup and it would be worth our time to chase.

We were in a moderate risk that afternoon with a 5% chance of tornadoes. Warnings had already been issued for Dawson County just off to our west.

Didn't have to wait very long a Tornado Warning was issued and we had just got to our area to setup and were pointing due southwest.

The video is a close up of what we saw that day. So one might be able to see the actual distance we were away from this storm from these images.

Get to close and all you get is grey and no structure. No photographic value of a storm. To far away and you can't get the detail. So to you have to find that perfect spot and we did that afternoon!

Some spectacularly dramatic lighting conditions on the upper dale as seen from Bail Hill above Mickleton, on New Year's Eve 2025. The foreground in shadow is the bottom end of Lunedale. Illuminated in the middle distance (L>R) are part of Holwick and East and West Force Garth farms a little further back, Forest in Teesdale further away and Ettersgill to the right.

This was taken about 4 pm this afternoon. It had been storming off & on all afternoon. This is looking southwest from the 6th floor of the building I work in.

These clouds had the most amazing hues of blue and other colors last night - not quite this dark, but intentionally underexposing brought out the colors more. SOOC. Please view large!

A rapidly changing formation of clouds sweeps over the Wachusett Reservoir from the northwest adding some drama to the December sky.

A slice of Upper Teesdale in dramatic light between heavy squalls as seen from Stable Edge. In the spotlight from left to right are Hield House farm, Force Garth quarry a little further away with East and West Force Garth Farms to the right of it, and most of Ettersgill at the right of the picture. The next set of heavy squalls are advancing and starting to obscure Cronkley Scar in the distance.

Right on time... Nice billowing thunderheads forming early afternoon. Nice structure on these storm cells forming just to the east of Epcot that afternoon!

I had several chances at storms over the month of July into Early August... I did make an several attempts... resulting in several good sunsets (I'll post these at a later time), just no good storms to capture ... until this one.

This would be the start to several sets of images expanding from Mid August to late September and a few chases in October.

10:00pm, and the rain was coming down in sheets. Radar had several cells starting to mature, and warnings were just issued for Northern Buffalo County. Can you say right place right time...

This Ominous Shelf Cloud had several cloud to cloud and cloud to ground shots. Lots of positive lighting in front of this cell. It was incredible hard to see since it was misting and then hard rain right before these captures!

After the tornadoes in south central Nebraska that afternoon. Storms were still percolating and still severe enough to produce what I'm looking for... That wouldn't happen again that day... Oh the structure on those severe storms were truly photogenic. Some of the best Nebraska outflow boundaries of 2018 were in my viewfinder that day.

I bet you folks all thought I was done with this set... I had a long drive back home that late afternoon. The sun was starting to drop. I was riding alongside the storm that I had just been chasing all afternoon. Some incredible light on the backside of this storm was just to good to pass up. Pulled over... and grabbed these final shots after the afternoon.

If your patient enough to wait, because it takes time. One can get some captivating perspectives after the storm... These are good examples! An excellent way to end this chase day!

The briefest of patches of sunshine lights up these roadside daffodils by Gillett Farm at Forest in Teesdale under a stormy looking sky. Taken on a very windy morning as the remnants of Storm Kathleen pass through.
