A fairly steep 30 minute hike down from Skyline Drive in Shenandoah Valley National Park rewards you with a cool pool of clear water and a series of cascades. This is very near the visitor center and restaurants and gets a little crowded so get there early in the day.

This was taken on an early morning trip to the Jökulsárlón beach in Iceland. The melting of the Vatnajökull and Breiðamerkurjökull ice caps in the distance creates icebergs which make their way ashore and congregate on the beach. To be able to see them up close is wonderful, there's a myriad of incredibly intricate patterns and beautiful subtle colours to admire.

the green wood hoopoe (phoeniculus purpureus) is a beautiful bird but love to stay in the forest dark ...so it's a very complicate target for the camera sensors.
here i had a beautiful light in the background but the bird was in the dark so i needed i big work to get back the colours.
central kruger ,South Africa
the bird size and shape is quiet complicate too for photography.hard to keep it on the frame with a so long tails.
after many troubles here i used max aperture to get it less dark as possible withe the lowest isos as possible.it helped me a lot when i needed to open the shadows in post production.central weighted average is my favorite exposure method in case of erratic birds

The Dark Green Fritillary is the most widespread fritillary found in the British Isles and is a pleasure to see as it flies powerfully over its grassland habitats, frequently stopping to nectar on Thistles and Knapweed. It gets its name from the green hue found on the underside of the hindwings, which are peppered with large silver spots.
One of those great halls you find often in this sort of 3d fractal done up with a few modest flourishes in the color. A lot of malls are starting to look like this across the country. This one is all made up in my little computer, but it does remind me of a few I've seen.
A Dark-eyed Junco pausing for a minute after snacking on seed. The sun came out from behind clouds and gave me a few shots with gorgeous light. Photo taken in our backyard in Camas, Washington.
Dark clouds.
As the dark clouds swirl in the sky they form unique patterns that continually change with each rotation.
It is as if they take on a life form of their own as they dance and twirl in a moving mass.

Just when you think you’ve seen every cloud formation and color, Mother Nature surprises you with something new, bizarre, and extraordinarily beautiful. While taking photos of bald eagles and hawks, the clouds put on a show that diverted my attention. This is a detail of the bottom of one of the rapidly morphing clouds, with fine threads of swirling vapor catching just enough light to show off some iridescence. The darker strands above suggest fingers reaching from the skies: dark-fingered afternoon (σκοτεινό δάχτυλο το απόγευμα), as a contrast to the “Eos rhododactylos” or “rosy fingered dawn” of Greek mythology (Eos Goddess of dawn). Clouds provide an infinite diversity of entertainment for the wandering eye.
the woods are lovely, dark and deep,
but I have promises to keep,
and miles to go before I sleep...
