'Abracadabra'.
A dark crimson hybrid tea-rose.
This one, rather strangely, without the variegation that is characteristic of 'Abracadabra'.
However, upon researching this rose, I discovered that the lack of variegation is not that uncommon.
Growing in a garden along Pretoria Parade in Hornsby.

'Oklahoma' hybrid tea-rose. This is a very dark crimson, velvety, highly-fragrant, hybrid tea-rose with double blooms.
The 'Oklahoma' hybrid tea rose was developed at Oklahoma State University by Herbert C. Swim and O. L. Weeks before 1963 and introduced in 1964. It was hybridised from the cultivars 'Chrysler Imperial' (Lammerts, 1952) and 'Charles Mallerin' (Meilland, 1947).
In 2004, the 'Oklahoma' rose became the official state flower of Oklahoma, in the United States.
This particular 'Oklahoma' lives along Pretoria Parade, at Hornsby, in northern Sydney.

Species: Speyeria aglaja.
Male / Upperwing.
The dark green fritillary is actually an orange butterfly with black spots. It gets its name from the dark green hue to the undersides of its hindwings. A strong flier, it can be seen on open, grassy habitats. Info: The Wildlife Trusts.

A photography of a mountainous horizon, while the sky was covered with dark clouds and the afternoon was getting darker, a few rays of light filtered through the clouds, on the mountains on the horizon.

I won't call it black, but at least it is very dark red, this new variety of tulips we planted last year.

Shimmering in silky tones, trembling with beauty and individuality... joined in passion like grown from one stem, they belong together.
I discovered these, a salmon pink I had NEVER seen before! The petals look 'waxy' but feel silky soft!
The peony was originally introduced as medicine. In fact, its ancient Japanese name "Ebisugusuri" literally means ‘medicine from China’.
However, due to its beautiful and now mostly double blooms, in time, many decorative varieties were developed. In Japanese society, it was seen both as a medicine and a source of beauty.

Today I had a really interesting walk up a couple of smaller hills. The first one was Windy Hill in the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park follwed by a walk to the old Barytes Mine also located in the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.
While on the Windy Hill trail I walked through a forest and the light and dark really caught me here, I just had to photograph it.
