Wedding cookie samples with new damask designs. There were done with hand-cut stencils and piped dots. Design inspirations came from damask font characters.

Red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and a damask patterned fondant topper

Inspired by several of my flickr cookie mentors, I've been wanting to try stenciling for some time. I finally found a chance this week. I found a clip art damask pattern on-line that I liked, and then cut out my own stencil.

I was lulled into a false sense of security having done several square stencilled damask cakes, but gosh this round cake was terribly tricky! I could have done with an extra pair of hands but ended up masking the stencil onto the cake then waiting for the royal icing to dry before continuing on around.

The flower is made from two sizes of magnolia cutter and is more like a camellia, which I thought would better suit the damask pattern.

My new damask backdrop

one of the few projects i liked at uarts. it was, simply, to create a kind of lace (knit, cut, crochet, burn, etc) that interacts with light (natural, artificial) in an interesting way. i ended up slowly, slowly xacto cutting these greeeeat big sheets of paper with some vintage damask patterns- then i just turned the sheets into lamps bc i had to idea how else to show them.

Next in the series is Shimei. My predictive text in my phone always predicts her name as "Shimmer", which is totally nothing like her.

Shimei is one of the most neutral, diplomatic, down-to-earth people you'll ever meet. She'll always be happy to see you and will try her best to spend time with you. She's intelligent, savvy and passionate.

I'll stop singing her praises now lest she gets a big head (which is highly unlikely by the way). She loved the fabric so much she bought it from me to make into a canvas to hang in her room. It feels nice when you pick out something you're positive a friend would like.

Love these stencils using royal icing.

beautiful black and white room design from brocadehome.com

This was for a wonderful couple, and was held at a great venue that I'd never delivered to before. So happy to finally go there. They called the cake perfection, and said they would be preferring us from now on. So it couldn't have gone better, really made it all worth it!

It seems like forever ago I met Lindsey for our first consultation. She was so enthusiastic it made even more excited to be a part of her big wedding day. The cake was inspired by her invitation which included damask and a beautiful dark teal color. The crystal monogram topper was stunning.

If I'm going to manifest inworld in a female form, it's got to be with a big sword, heh.

Chocolate cake with mocha swiss meringue buttercream. Design request was Modern Baroque, Pink, Sassy, Elegant and Classy with damask and chandalier details.

My interpretation of Magister Damask. A Muun and head of Damask Holdings.

Custom head, cloak, and belt by me.

Used Friends body because of the naturral build of a Muun I thought it worked better.

An antique and classy design with and all-over stencil pattern over a sort texture.

my first time using a stencil! it smudged here and there, but thankfully because of the colour scheme it wasn't too obvious. any tips to keep the stencil from moving when spreading on the royal icing?

hand cut pastillage butterflies and a giant rose tops this elegant cake.

Located in La Villa Firenze is this dramatic faux finished accent wall. The beautiful damask pattern is embellished with upholstery nails and swarovski crystals for a 3 dimensional look that even Michelangelo would approve of!

My first try at stencilling with my new designer stencil. I just HAD to do black :P I was so nervous I would mess up, but it turned out sooooo well. I absolutely LOVE this style of cake. The photo doesn't capture the amazing texture of the royal icing stencil.
