The Daffodils are still blooming in the lower elevations of Nevada Co, California. This one was in North San Juan. Snow is on the ground up in the higher areas but eventually I will get there for some photography. 25 March 2017.
Narcissus is a genus of predominantly spring perennial plants in the Amaryllidaceae (amaryllis) family. Various common names including daffodil, daffadowndilly, narcissus, and jonquil are used to describe all or some members of the genus. Narcissus has conspicuous flowers with six petal-like tepals surmounted by a cup- or trumpet-shaped corona. The flowers are generally white or yellow (orange or pink in garden varieties), with either uniform or contrasting coloured tepals and corona.

While walking around checking out the daffodils this a.m., I noticed some stalks had bent over and the flowers were laying on the ground.

It doesn't feel much like spring out, that's for sure. It's in the low 40's, cloudy and raw feeling, but I guess it's better than the original forecast earlier this week when they actually threatened snow.
For the second year in a row, there was a small cluster of daffodils blooming wild in a neighborhood greenbelt park near the edge of a retention pond embankment. I thought someone had dug them up last year because they disappeared not long after blooming and there was a hole in the ground where they had been. Not sure how they got back, but they are far and away the largest flowers blooming in the greenbelt area.
