I went to check on Leo during his nap and all I found was a bare bum! He had taken off his diaper and was sitting up in the crib saying "dadada" over and over again!

Die Kohlmeise (Parus major) ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Meisen (Paridae). Sie ist die größte und am weitesten verbreitete Meisenart in Europa. Ihr Verbreitungsgebiet erstreckt sich jedoch noch weiter bis in den nahen Osten und durch die Gemäßigte Zone Asiens bis in nach Fernost.
Der ursprüngliche Lebensraum der Kohlmeise sind Laub- und Mischwälder mit alten Bäumen; aufgrund ihrer Anpassungsfähigkeit kommt sie jedoch in fast allen Lebensräumen vor, in denen sie Höhlen zum Nisten findet. Sie zählt meist zu den häufigsten Vogelarten. Die Nahrung ist sehr vielfältig, jedoch werden meist hauptsächlich Insekten und deren Larven sowie pflanzliche Nahrung wie beispielsweise Samen oder Nußfrüchte gefressen. Nester werden in Baumhöhlen, Nistkästen oder anderen Hohlräumen gebaut und meist zwischen sechs und zwölf Eier hineingelegt. Die meisten Kohlmeisen bleiben im Winter in ihren Brutgebieten, wo sie teilweise in kleinen Trupps umherstreifen und sich auch mit anderen Meisen vergesellschaften. Vögel nördlicherer Regionen wandern zum Teil auch in südlicher Gegenden ab.
Ab dem zeitigen Frühjahr und teilweise auch schon im Winter ist der recht auffällige, metallisch-helle Gesang zu vernehmen, der ein zweisilbiges tsi-da … tsi-da … tsi-da oder beispielsweise als tsi-da-tsit … auch dreisilbig sein kann. Daneben verfügt die Kohlmeise über ein sehr breites Repertoire an Rufen wie beispielsweise ein hohes pink und ein warnendes dädädä.
Früher wurden über 30 Unterarten zur Kohlmeise gezählt. Aufgrund genetischer Untersuchungen wurden die ost- und südasiatischen Populationen jedoch als eigene Arten (Parus minor und Parus cinereus) abgegliedert, die derzeit noch keine deutschen Namen haben. Der Kohlmeise werden danach nur noch 15 Unterarten zugerechnet.
Can't believe it, one month from a year! She isn't huge, still so small to try to be walking, take a few steps independently here and there. Drinks water from a 'sippy' cup, holds it herself. crawls around faster then i can keep up. top four teeth coming in at the same time, has three on the bottom. LOVES FOOD, eats everything i put in front of her, starting to not like baby food no matter how thick i make it. Does not like being put into a large pumpkin, lol. determined, no matter how you try to hide it, she will find it, follow it, and get it. clapping, llearning how to blow kisses, leans in to give/get kisses, hugs tight, smiles, babbles consistently, dadada, plays games-dadadadadada-What?-hehehehe she'll say as she pops her head over the crib to see dadada, and repeat. mommy is a favorite word, iloayou has been said a couple times. heybaby as well. still lots of pppplllluuuusss and bababababaas, duhdudhududduhs. way of eating, rolls food from palm of hand and twist it in fingers until top of fistlike hand and pops into the month.
I got this recently at an antique store, and I love it! You've heard the 'ROCK-1' rhythm on Trio's "DaDaDa" (remember the VW Commercial?)

Lucky enough to meet the lovely Hannah Lawrence @ Lyme Park today Sep 9th 2012, not sure what her role was exactly, but in the bits I saw and heard, the National Trust must think Christmas has come early...... she was superb at Customer Service, ( level III no problem ) .... and lovely with it! - I think Octavia Hill would have been smiling as well:)
Also a really big Thank You to Hannah for saying Yes to the pic.... Honestly!, it was one of my first attempts at a " strangers " pic , not sure if I'm doing this right as she seemed more of a friend :))

Kotte Esala Perahera is the grand festival of Esala held in Sri Lanka. Happening in September in Kotte,. It is very grand with elegant costumes. It is a Buddhist festival consisting of dances and colourfully decorated elephants. There are fire-dances, whip-dances, Kandyan dances and various other cultural dances. The elephants are usually adorned with lavish garments.

Ik weet eigenlijk niet of de komende illustraties de themanaam 'Dada face' waardig zijn maar het deed me er
wel aan denken. Voor wie een idee wil hebben van wat Dada betekent, dit stond er o.a. op Wikipedia.
Dada is een kunst net onder de realiteit. Kunstenaars hielden zich bezig met voorwerpen te gebruiken die eigenlijk al bestonden. Zij maakten er net iets anders van dan het eigenlijk moest voorstellen.
