IC5068 is an HII emission nebula in Cygnus located about 1600 light years away.

Cygnus region imaged at 50mm with unmodded 1100d Canon DSLR. mounted on ioptron and unguided 10 minute subs were integrated for a final 2 hours of data.
There is part of a second swan in this image. Nice to see them passing through on their way to their arctic tundra breeding grounds.

If you use the zoom tool. the yellow lore patch is visible. This feature distinguishes this swan species from my previously posted Trumpeter Swans. Trumpeter Swans never have the yellow lore patch (Sibley)

I caught this small family three days ago. I was surprised to see them in a small accessible pond. We are having a very mild winter with no snow so far however.
