This tiny little dog was actually chasing the soccer ball around quite well. He was sitting here, waiting for his owner to catch up with him.
We can hardly believe how good this dog is already. He is housebroken and got the hang of the doggy door pretty quickly. He is not tugging anymore when I walk him. I corrected him lightly with a bamboo stick held in front of his chest. He does want to confront other dogs, but I talk him out of it and distract him with a jerk on the leash or tap his butt with my foot. At home he just wants to follow us around the house or lie there watching us. He looks to us for direction and plays with his toys leaving everything else alone. He's actually better behaved than any pet we've had. But we're still in the honeymoon stage.
And I'm so glad his tail and ears are intact. Min pins, like dobermans, have their ears done for that pointy vampire bat look. I also love how his tail curls over his back. Why would anybody want a dog with a stump for a tail?

The new sod was in place when I came home for lunch today! The boys officially have a yard again and they love it! Coupled with the fact that our surprising Sox have been in first over 100 days this summer (knock on our new hardwood floors), I wish I could pause life right here for a while. :)

My Pomeranian, Weezy, after our hike this morning. It was a short hike, but lots of fun with Weezy's sissy Addie, cousin Bella, pal Whitney and human friend Leah. 4 dogs on a hike was quite an adventure!

We often wish we had cards on us for Oscar's Facebook page when we meet nice people who really like him and want to see his pix and vids. Well now we have some COOl MOO!
Sampson has been our buddy since 2004. In the winter of 2008, he suffered a severe perineal hernia that required a $2000 surgery to repair it. At the time of the surgery, we were told that due to the severity of the hernia that it was likely to reoccur. As predicted, it has reoccurred and he desperately needs more surgery before 2012. Other than the hernia, he is a happy, healthy and active dog who should live to his mid to late teens. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience end his life prematurely. I have also contacted a Corgi rescue in hopes that he could be adopted to a family that is more financially able to care for him. However, since my husband and I can't have children, giving him up for adoption because of health issues seems as ridiculous to us as giving up our 9 year old child for adoption because we can't keep up with the medical expenses. We work in the service industry, living paycheck to paycheck and our credit is not good enough to get a care credit card that would allow us to make payments. To help us pay for Sampson's surgery, we have set up a ChipIn donation site to raise funds for Sampson's surgery. So please consider donating whatever small amount you can to help keep Sampson with the family that loves him. Let me introduce you Gutz, rescued about 6 months ago. He spent his first six years producing puppies... We had to take care of his teeth that were completely rotten, his ears that were infected, get rid of the fleas and taught him how to live indoors (he was used to pee right next to his food bowl, not the cleanest habit!). He has a jaw deformity and some missing teeth, that is why his little tongue is usually sticking out (gets back in when he is exicted :)). He is the sweetest little guy, still has to gain a little more confidence.
Teddy is still the happiest dog in the world.
