Our apartment complex has very soothing dancing fountains. Also, probably the last day to wear the White Sox bib. They suck this year and football preseason starts Sunday night!!!!!

Gutz is becoming more and more confident around the house, which is great. And once he tasted the warm feel of snuggling on our laps, he was addicted!! Now I cannot sit anywhere without seeing this little face pleading... How can I resist?!

Summer has settled in and Teddy is ready for the push from the Detroit Tigers. Teddy says "Bring it bitches!". If the Tigers were meant to win the division, then the dog days will it play out! This should be fun! :)

I guess Teddy and TJ are taking requests. :)

This is for Vitória, a 12 year old from Brazil. She wanted this message written with hearts next to the boys. So we went out and bought some love-themed bandanas and did our best to say "Thanks for looking Vitória!" Unfotunately, Teddy was a little too chilly this morning to smile. Apparently the site she wants to post it on needs the tag in the corner - I dunno, weird. Again, if anybody is making money off these photos you need to get ready for a lawsuit. I share them from the goodness of my heart.

P.S. We are taking requests....'cuz I'm out of ideas. So send away!!!

Sampson has been our buddy since 2004. In the winter of 2008, he suffered a severe perineal hernia that required a $2000 surgery to repair it. At the time of the surgery, we were told that due to the severity of the hernia that it was likely to reoccur. As predicted, it has reoccurred and he desperately needs more surgery. Other than the hernia, he is a happy, healthy and active dog who should live to his mid to late teens. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience end his life prematurely. I have also contacted a Corgi rescue in hopes that he could be adopted to a family that is more financially able to care for him. However, since my husband and I can't have children, giving him up for adoption because of health issues seems as ridiculous to us as giving up our 9 year old child for adoption because we can't keep up with the medical expenses. We work in the service industry, living paycheck to paycheck and our credit is not good enough to get a care credit card that would allow us to make payments. To help us pay for Sampson's surgery, we have set up a ChipIn donation site to raise funds for Sampson's surgery. So please consider donating whatever small amount you can to help keep Sampson with the family that loves him. If you can's make a donation, please pass this info along to friends who may be able to help. Sampson, his Corgi buddies Shiloh & Rusty and his human family thank you! Click on the link below to go to Sampson's ChipIn.com page to make your donation. THANK YOU!!

Today's update: his personality is pretty much back to normal. Unfortunately he's figured out how to run in the splint. It's encouraging that it doesn't hurt, but still not helping him to heal quicker.

So, TJ is like a 5 lb. elephant -he never forgets. A month or two ago, we were playing outside and as you can see TJ pretty much sprints and barks happily the whole time. In turn, he tends to miss the things closest to him...like a cement step. As he turned around and saw my face he smiled, pivoted on the cement sidewalk, and began his sprint. I saw the step down that he was going for and from 20 feet away, tried to motion him to stop. You see, TJ doesn't understand what a step is. He's been carried up and down every step his entire life. His little paws extended, grabbed nothing but air and naturally pulled back. He proceeded to go face first into the cement. I ran over to him, but I knew what was about to happen. He gathered himself and let loose the most ridiculous screaming fit you've ever heard. Seriously, if the pizza guy comes to the door and TJ's tucked away in another room, they look at me and say "Is that a kid or a dog?". Naturally, I thought he had broken his jaw. In time, he calmed down and had no problem chewing - he's pretty tough. But now, cement = pain. So I see this sweet smile and rapid tail-wag every time I walk away and then start to come back, knowing that I'm coming back to carry him over that evil cement with its random pitfalls. Because cement = pain, but Dad = safety!

My roommate's friends brought over their gentle dogs on their way to travel to fun places this weekend.

Ten things about TJ

1. Bullies Teddy over the food dish.

2. Doesn't hear much anymore except certain pitches and a few loud bangs.

3. Has the lightest little bark and it cracks my neighbors up.

4. Will give you kisses until your lips are raw if you let him.

5. Likes beer (only licks empties if I lay it on the floor for him)

6. Refuses to go quietly in the morning and be locked in the kitchen - I have to chase him.

7. Goes through fits where he only wants to lick cement.

8. Might be the fastest 13 year old Pom in the world.

9. Loves to lay on the cool tile all day (as you can see).

10. Loves his Daddy as much as Daddy loves him. :)
