Kanga just looks like her mother. It's incredible. She climbed on this dead branch to use it like an outlook post (Squirrels-2020-9761.jpg)
More new baby squirrels have arrived. This one is about 3 months old and shows a nice color variant: The tufts are black while the rest is red-brown. An interesting observation is that the whiskers are much more noticeable on camera than in real life and how far they spread to the left and right. They are like a comb (Squirrels-2021-4554.jpg)
Pepper is showing off in front of me. He came very close. Just about 1 meter or so (Squirrels-2021-3534.jpg)
We have a new squirrel in this corner of the park. Looks like it's already 3 months old. I didn't see any siblings yet, but maybe soon (Squirrels-2021-8120.jpg)
Night and the morning were very cold - the squirrels have their tufts frozen. On Hazel, my favorite female red squirrel, they look like brushes dipped in white color 😍
This is Streifi, a resident male red squirrel. He became quite an impressive, virile Squirrel and is undoubtedly the alpha-male in this corner of the park (Squirrels-2020-3657.jpg)
Kanga is also a girl 👧 Can't believe this shot worked out: she came around the tree so quickly that this was more like point and shoot @ 400mm 😄 (Squirrels-2020-7118.jpg)
This is again Emily. I like this shot - at 200mm uncropped and super sharp (Squirrels-2020-6864.jpg)
Several squirrels scurried past me in the cemetery. They came from different directions and were very fast, as you can see.
The Eurasian squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) is a rodent of the squirrel family (Sciuridae).
This is my favorite red squirrel lady Hazel wearing her winter pelt. It's a wonderful feeling that she has built up such a high trust relationship with me so I can get so close and make pictures like this one. I've just realized that I am visible as a reflection in her eye 😉

Streifi, our resident male red squirrel, feels at home in the trees. But to collect nuts he also joins us on the ground (Squirrels-2020-1724.jpg)
Attention, here comes Spot! We called this new squirrel Spot because it has some nice spots of darker fur all over his body. Spot is somewhere between 3 and 4 months old (Squirrels-2021-5391.jpg)
This is Buddy hiding behind a tree... but childlike curiosity sometimes just wins 😉 It was very cold this night, therefore the fog froze on her tufts (Squirrels-2020-3537.jpg)
Winnie (about 6 months old now) is balancing on this branch as to the manner born (Squirrels-2020-1115.jpg)
Trick used this broken branch as an outlook post in the sun. He is about 4.5 months old now (Squirrels-2020-2693.jpg)
This is our notorious male red squirrel Grape begging for more nuts. Who can say not to these eyes... (Squirrels-2020-1589.jpg)
My favorite red squirrel Hazel after some grooming to become ready for the fotoshooting. Let your fluffy tail shine... (Squirrels-2020-0557.jpg)
Polly is a female red squirrel cub and about 10 weeks old. She's the daughter of our lovely Mama squirrel and definitely wins the lookalike contest. I instantly fell in love with her 😍 (Squirrels-2020-8997.jpg)
This is our youngster Kanga. I like how she blends with the background. No wonder you won't spot her in the bushes if she doesn't move... (Squirrels-2020-9455.jpg)
This is a new red squirrel sitting on a low branch watching me. He wasn't sure who I was (Squirrels-2020-2602.jpg)
This is Buddy, a female red squirrel. When I reviewed my shots from today I was impressed by how her colors resemble the grey and red colors of the old trunk and leaves - really nice camouflage (Squirrels-2020-2256.jpg)
These are Lou and Jaću. It's about 10 days since I took pictures of Lou and boy did he grow and what a beautiful squirrel he became. He's now the big brother to Jaću and Lucky. They are both about 6 weeks old (Squirrels-2020-9986.jpg)
This squirrel is one of 3 siblings born in summer this year. The high moisture in the last weeks has helped to grow this large beautiful mushroom on top of an old tree. The squirrels don't eat it, but they sniff on it... (Squirrels-2019-3624.jpg)
Grape was born last spring and is the big brother to Kanga. I didn't see him in a while but I am sure it's him. The grey hair on this back is his winter pelt already - soon the squirrels will become all fluffy again 😉 (Squirrels-2020-7108.jpg)
Not sure if this squirrel is Uriel we saw as a little one several months ago. It appears he is singing (Squirrels-2019-3019.jpg)
Red squirrel Hazel has some favorite places in the park. This old and broken branch is one of them. About 1,5 meters above the ground it is a good vantage point for her
(Squirrels-2020-5588.jpg)
My favorite red squirrel Hazel moved to a new spot. Probably because she was disturbed by pedestrians or workers in her old tree. We still hope she gets pregnant - her new home is ideal to raise cubs (Squirrels-2020-7563.jpg)
