St Mary of the Purification, Blidworth, Nottinghamshire UK preserves an unusual custom whereby the baby born nearest to Christmas in the Village is ceremonially rocked in a flower-decorated crib on the first Sunday in February. This is supposed to represent the presentation of Baby Jesus to the Temple. This image was taken on December 17th, so 2023's chosen child's arrival is probably imminent! Rocking's Babies are added to a list of names on display in this tiny historic church which dates to the 15th Century.
