Customs House on the Bund was built between 1925 and 1927, replacing a smaller Customs House which stood on the same site.
The clock in the tower was the largest in Asia when it was built, its face measuring 5.4 metres in diameter with a 3.17 m long minute hand.
The buildng still houses the Shanghai Customs department, though China Customs also has a modern building on the Pudong side of Huangpu River - directly opposite the historic building.

LOKMA (friedcake)
The lokma of Izmir is very famous… This dessert is prepared in the following way: The dough with yeast (Put a little tea sugar into the dough) is put in very hot oil. When the dough is taken out of the oil, put some sweet syrup on it. There are queues in front of every place where this dessert is well-prepared.
Answer to sevgili Rita'm : This info was from the internet. What they mean by ''tea sugar ''must really be the refined type of sugar as you said .And not in cube form (I mean lumps of sugar) but in tiny granule (grain) type I guess. So you put spoonfuls of it.
Just has the pleasure of meeting up with Warren (Fasene) on his trip to Adelaide. Thanks mate for a great little industrial shoot.
I even liked the design on the pillars. No detail was missed.

These are all customs I have started in the past but for various reasons not completed. In most cases it is because I'm not happy with the start or that I lost interest in the character.

Colours I perhaps wouldn't have picked, but they create subtle distinction within the building.

It is only the inscription that gives it away. This is an enormous inkwell from the Customs Office in Porto, mid-19th century. Keeping the registers of incoming goods from overseas consumed a lot of ink. Seen in the Casa do Infante Dom Henrique, Porto.

I managed to fit in a quick visit to Dublin before Christmas and six weeks of lockdown here. This is the Customs House, with some seasonal lighting. A belated Merry Christmas to everyone!

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Excerpt from gpsmycity.com:
Mauthalle (Former Customs House), Nuremberg:
This medieval building has served as a granary and customhouse throughout its centuries-old history. It was built as a granary around 1498 on the site of the former city moat. At the time, this was the largest grain house in the city and stored food for times of crisis.
The Former Customs House features a gabled roof. The eastern gable has an intricate network of blind ogee arches. The city's coat of arms, with the imperial eagle, is featured in the lancet-arched portal.
The impressive roof has five stories and rests on top of the three-story sandstone building.
The granary began serving as a customhouse in 1572. The building was heavily damaged during WWII but has been restored. The original builders used half-timbers on the facade; the remaining half-timbered facade can be seen on the building's easter wing. The rest of the building was rebuilt using brick.
The cellar features 26 pillars and now houses the Barefoot brewery and restaurant.

"That's another scav down, intel says that the stolen container is stashed in the warehouse up ahead. Bag the 74, we should get moving before more of them show up, the last thing we need is a firefight with the Dealmaker's boys."
If you play the game don't ask me which building this is, I just felt like building something EFTish : P
Should have another build up next week, but we'll see, depends on how swamped I get with finals. Until then, thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Had a bit of time to kill while Mrs W had her hair done.
I love the area around the Customs House on Purfleet. I'd not noticed this view before.

The construction of the Customs House, at 1 Front Street, south of Lambard Street, was started in 1852 and finished in 1858. The building was unusual at that time for its fire-proof construction with iron beams inside the stone walls. The original building was completely made of granite. The 1912 addition was also granite from the same quarry at Mussel Ridge Islands in Penobscot Bay. The architectural style of the 2.5 story building is Italianate. The roof is a hipped roof. That architectural style was rarely seen in this area at that time. The building is considered elaborate because of the detail of how the stone was cut, set, and placed.
