I got a letter from 12 year calligraphy phenom Janie Lin. The envelope was done in Spencerian script, and the enclosed letter in perfect cursive. Just a sampling of what she does here. Tons of practice…
I'm already freaking out about what I might be forgetting.

-list of addresses for sending postcards

Just noticed this tiny bit of our honeysuckle vine growing in cursive. Hadn't considered vine calligraphy before.

I hate english lessons... I often find myself making words with my ruler, which has the alphabet in it, as you can see. I can't concentrate on whatever movie or book we're supposed to be taking notes about... I think this one was notes for an essay on the movie Little Miss Sunshine
Here is how I make a cobra glyph for the alphabetic sign for "dj". Curling back toward the head was a much rarer habit than trailing away from the head, but I have seen examples that resemble mine. In any case, if you wish to model yours on a more typical example, that is your choice. The rhythm of this one seems more natural to me, especially with a harder pen or rougher paper.
