Cursive performing a free acoustic show at Amoeba Hollywood for the release of their new album, I AM GEMINI.
These are pretty self explanatory. Except for one cool thing... the language is readable upside-down!
Taalen, the language, is maapeasa.
Serali, a girl who loves scripts, is pengita (typo in the image - it's NOT -t'ha).
Dauyn, spider (literally, it steps around) is maanoash.
Teitha means "letters".
Eidyn is how Aidan would be spelled by the Taala.
Shai is "fire".
Shouva is "image" - though there are spelling errors - it's missing the fricative mark, and has an extra syllable; it actually says shoubana. Oy.
Tsul means "I walk", from shul, to walk. The 1sg agentive prefix is n-, which combines with a following s or sh to make ts, but is written with the nasalizer and the original form of the word. At least, it can be written that way. Typo here too - it says tsol because I put the vowel mark on the wrong side of the line.
Boingi is there for Serali, who also loves boingies.
Sovyrandas is the name of the Taala capital. Though this actually says Sobrydas, thanks to my spelling errors.
Sera, leis, and than are the 3 Forces of which the universe is made, characterized by water, earth, and fire, and somewhat corresponding to passive, neutral, and active.
Sorry about the typos/spelling errors - still getting used to the script, obviously. It's easier to read than you'd think - for me it is, anyway. My problem is I keep thinking of English, which connects the upstrokes of the u at the bottom, for example, so I keep putting the diacritic beneath the line - which makes it o.
I'm already freaking out about what I might be forgetting.
I can tell you already that I need to add to those lists:
-Bongo
-list of addresses for sending postcards
-red patent high heel mary janes

I hate english lessons... I often find myself making words with my ruler, which has the alphabet in it, as you can see. I can't concentrate on whatever movie or book we're supposed to be taking notes about... I think this one was notes for an essay on the movie Little Miss Sunshine
Here is how I make a cobra glyph for the alphabetic sign for "dj". Curling back toward the head was a much rarer habit than trailing away from the head, but I have seen examples that resemble mine. In any case, if you wish to model yours on a more typical example, that is your choice. The rhythm of this one seems more natural to me, especially with a harder pen or rougher paper.
