Inscription in a beautiful squiggly hand. Circular seals aren't the most common, making this all the more interesting. The red (vermillion, really), adds a dash of color to the monochrome work.

One day, I really want to make a font...

only if I could train myself to give that "r" a nice loop at the top!

Scans from one of the magazines from Nance Cunningham.

I'd almost forgotten how to do cursive. Print comes naturally.

Bins and bins and bins of really nice pens for two bucks a throw. These were high-end logo pens...I've seen many of these same pens (boxed and sans logo) selling for $20-$40 in a decent shop.

Your correspondent spent much, much time there, giddily examining each and purchasing several. Yes, there are those of us who can spend hours looking at pens in search of ones that fit the hand perfectly, have just the right heft, lay down a nice playful line, and look nice in a shirt pocket.

A good pal of mine gave me a terrific logo pen from her company last year (you've seen it in many shots here, used for scale). A couple of months ago, I uncapped it and the pieces tumbled to the floor. I don't know what happened, but it was beyond reassembly. Ever since, I'd been looking for a good day-to-day, "Better than a Bic, fun to write with, but not as showy or vulnerable to loss as my super-keen Lamy fountain pen" writing implement.

And now I have many. Thank You, MIT Flea!

This is what I wrote to my boyfriend, while I was upset with him not comforting me when I was sad, advice that he has not taken lightly, and does quite well, especially wiping away my tears
