It's a mess right now.. Need some reorg. The Nightmare b4 Christmas stuff is going up into the home theater. Dusty as hell from all the hardwood floor work I was doing. There's 5 Alternators sitting on the floor still in the box.
I do a brain dump of stuff in my head every week or so (I try to anyway). This one was after a month. Writing a blog about it now.

Phnom Penh, January 13, 2023: Mekong is the home for more than 1,000 fish species and supports critical habitat for other aquatic animals. Current fishing pressure coincides with the impact of climate change and hydropower development to impact of fisheries resource in large scale by blocking migration, changing hydrological pattern and disrupting the reproductive biology of aquatic animals.
The Wonders of the Mekong is a USAID-funded project in collaboration with the Inland Fisheries Research and Development Institute, Fisheries Administration seeks to improve understanding, management capacity, and appreciation of a functional and healthy Mekong River for fish, other aquatic animals and people. The President of the University of Nevada, Reno, Dr. Brian Sandoval and his colleagues will visit project activities and partners in Cambodia on January 10-20, 2023. During this visit, Dr. Sandoval, H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of MAFF, and H.E. Patrick Murphy, an Ambassador of the U.S. Cambodia, H.E Poum Sotha and other delegates will release 5000 endangered fish in the Mekong River, in front of the Royal Palace, including Mekong giant catfish, giant barb, and striped catfish.
The event will be organized on January 13, 2023. Delegates and participants will meet and take boat to release fish at the confluence of the Mekong, Tonle Sap, and Bassac Rivers (Chaktomuk River). The event will start at 07:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
The main objective of this event is to improve the public awareness and broadcast in social network for the important of fish release during the migratory period of Mekong fishes, especially Endangered species such as Mekong giant catfish, giant barb, striped catfish and other fishes that migrate to the Mekong upstream for dry season spawning and refuge.
Current temps while we were up here at the Boreal Mountain Resort around Soda Springs, CA. Not that cold...
It was that rare time when we were to see snow again! It's been years since I've seen snow in person. Me and my parents had traveled up to the Boreal Mountain Resort around Soda Springs, CA to see our first snow in a long time. Knowing that there won't be any new storms to add fresh snow to the Sierras in many days to come, it was a good thing that we went! We didn't do much since we were short on daylight. We arrived like at 3 p.m. already. Despite the late arrival, the main highlight was that we went snow tubing. Too bad we didn't go in the skiing area since we needed tickets to get into that area of the resort. We called it a day and then left Boreal around sunset. While along I-80 headed westward, we saw the beautiful sunset thru the high clouds. It was a nice ending to a short afternoon in the snow!

*More info of the resort: Boreal Mountain Resort is a ski area in Soda Springs, near the Lake Tahoe area of California. Located on Highway 80, West of Truckee, Boreal typically is the first area to open for skiing and snowboarding in Northern California.

The current humans effect on this planet will resonate for generations and thousands of years. Our need for water has changed many ecological systems throughout the world. For instance, we have turned natural deserts such as Los Angeles and Las Vegas into areas which tax the water resources nearby affecting animal and plant life exponentially. Furthermore, humans continue to use styrofoam which has such a long half life that the water in the photo may be gone now but the cup will be in some landfill five hundred years from now.
