For some reason Bart likes to curl up inside its food dish.... Looks very wierd! He has a cave, a rock, and a log which he can hide in. He uses all and still has time for the dish!

I've always wanted to get a shot of a fern unfurling. This was taken in Cluny Gardens near Aberfeldy...a beautiful tranquil woodland garden. The rain was on and off but I waited and got the tripod set up to ensure I didn't miss my chance for a crisp shot. I'm delighted with my 105mm macro lens - it's refreshing being able to get that up close focus.
Gardening has been quite exciting this year, what with the assistance - often suddenly - of Tiny Cat, and the exploding seed pods of hairy bittercress.
Once ripe, the pods explode when touched and then they leave these little curls of case all over the place. In this case on some stinging nettle in the butterfly garden.
Sometimes I get awesome curls - look at that! I didn't do anything to get those except not mess with my hair - I just squeezed it a little when I got out of the shower and let it air dry. No tousling, no rubbing with a towel, just let it dry.
Rawk. Wish I could get curls like that all over my head.
Instead of doing my 365 Day self portraits like I was supposed to over the weekend, I decided to take a break from them to spend a bit more time with this sweet daughter of mine. This was the first time EVER she let me curl her hair, the first time EVER she let me put a bow in it, and the first time EVER she gave me complete control over her outfit (since she's developed her own attitude towards these things, of course!). And then I just couldn't help myself taking pictures of her out in the yard and then later at Farmington pond. This little girl means soooooo much to me. She is my whole world and everything I ever wanted in a little girl... curls or no curls.
I don't know what this plant is, but liked the looks of the curls it made. Seen while hiking in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. We were staying at Pio Pico Thousand trails near Jamul at the time. (10-02-15-5109)

While out for an early morning walk, I took this shot from the San Clemente Pier. This unknown surfer was the only one in the water. The sun was at my back.
The sky had a slight early morning haze from the marine layer that had already started to burn off.
I cropped this image to get rid of lots of water.
Only if I had a longer lens…
