I took another stab at paper bag curls. This time I rolled them not as tight and gained the effect I really wanted, but my hair had not fully dried over night so it didn't hold well over the day.

Dad's new kitten Dewey has a magnificent tail. And he likes to curl it around his eyes when he's sleeping :-)
Everyone was so unhappy after the loss of Dad's cat Winston. There was only one thing to do, begin searching for a new companion. Not to replace Winston, but to lift some of the sadness. After internet searches and shelter visits and lots of indecision....fate had her say (long complicated story) and little Dewey came home with me on a dark and stormy night! :-) (honest!)
He is still a kitten, I believe about five months (we're not exactly sure because amongst other things the shelter gave us the wrong paper work! There were two look-alikes, lol. They'll mail us the correct papers next week)
It's hard to tell in the photos, but he's a lighter shade than Finnegan, almost a 'buff' and white. He's very sweet and gentle. But he's so busy moving around exploring his new home it's hard to get photos of him except when sleeping :-)
Finnegan is quite confused. His first reaction was to start playing with Dewey. But then he seemed to realize it wasn't a 'present' for him, but a cat come to actually live with us. He then started the standard hissing and growling (mild, not too drastic). Silly Finn, he's getting better but still has the dual reactions :-)
Hopefully, now that the art show is over and the companion search done I'll be able to catch up with everyone's photos this week! :-)
Robb Carr B&W method - weblog.slower.net/archives/3
Useful comparison of the two - I prefer this one because the blacks are blacker somehow and the light areas are lighter, but this is actually a better photo using the 24-70L ISO400 and f5.6
Got it done for free at Sephora in Arden Faire. My cousin Stephanie and I were driving back from Lake Tahoe and decided to drop by the mall in Sacramento. We walked into Sephora and they were advertising a hair event, so we signed up for a free appointment. Angel, who styled my hair, tried 3 different styles. The first was a braid that went from one side to the other into a loose bun, but the bun wouldn't stay. She said that my hair was too healthy and silky the bun wouldn't stay on. Then she tried twisting some hair from both sides, but when she bobby pinned my hair in the middle, it wouldn't stay. The 3rd and final style was just regular curls with A LOT of hairspray. She used bumble and bumble hairspray, which is supposed to be really good. Anyway, it was curlier earlier in the day, but I like how it turned out after about 12 hours. Maybe I should do this at night and hope that it looks good in the mornings if I ever decide to style my hair for work.
pale green curled quinoa germination sprouts stuck on the side of the cooking pot...I scraped them off...lol...too good to waste!
Tengo el pelo entrecortado y algunos pelos individuales sobresalen de los rulos, al tacto se sienten ásperos! No sé que hacer! Creo que la próxima luna llena me voy a cortar un poco las puntas y ver si mejoran!
I don't know what's going on with my hair. Some individual hairs are coming out of the curl and many of them are pin straight! I don't know what to do! I think next full moon I'm going to trim it a bit and hope for the best!
