On January 5, 2006, I was invited to the anniversary of the Palm Tree Orphanage in Cambodia. Friends of mine from Semester at Sea, who had adopted a Cambodian girl years before, had returned to visit the orphanage that they sponsor with their NGO Friends of Cambodian Children.

I had an amazing time photographing the children and my friends, watching a fantastic cultural performance, and eating some great barbecue. Afterwards they took me to Topaz - a very nice French restaurant - for some crepes suzette!
