Sorry, this is a little grainy because I had to crop it down pretty far to show what I wanted. I'd never noticed this before on a duck. And the same day and place I took this photo, I took another a different duck (that I'll post next) with the same kind of curl. I recall there used to be a hair style called the Ducktail. I wonder if this was the inspiration for that hair-do. (Deschutes River Recreation AreaIMG_1482.jpg)
A wave jacks up as it encounters the steep seaward edge of a rock-shelf; the lip over-reaches and spills briefly as clear water.
Bar Beach, Newcastle
I really wished I had something in this shot to show scale. These were some of the largest waves I have ever witnessed. I loved the way the spray curled with the wave. you can even pick up part of a rainbow in the wave. Rapa Nui, Chile

A 2-image stitched panorama of Curl Curl beach, taken from the north Curl Curl headland, late afternoon. Location not far from the previous flannel flower image.
Headed down to North Curly Pool for the first time in ages this morning, and was greated with a rather nice sunrise.
Hooray for actually putting some effort into a picture! Haha
My life. Right now. Oh my gosh. I lost my camera charger, and it's on, like, zero charge. So i ordered a new one tonight, but it won't be here for a week. How the crap am I supposed to make a nearly empty battery last through a week of 365. I have no idea.

On a side note, You know it's a freezing night in Florida when you can see your breath.

“And I learned what is obvious to a child. That life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time. That each day should be spent finding beauty in flowers and poetry and talking to animals. That a day spent with dreaming and sunsets and refreshing breezes cannot be bettered. But most of all, I learned that life is about sitting on benches next to ancient creeks with my hand on her knee and sometimes, on good days, for falling in love.”
― Nicholas Sparks
The sea is probably my favourite subject as there is always something to photograph. The water, the waves and the constant movement never fail to draw me in.
