On a lovely sunny day in April, Tim and I bought a cup of hot chocolate from the newly refurbished Coffee Cup Cafe on the seafront. There was no room inside the cafe, but it was a bit windy to sit on the seafront - however, we managed to find a spot across the road near the beach huts that was a bit more protected from the winds.

I was going for a central composition on this but after putting my back out earlier in the evening I was just happy to get any of the cup in the photo...

My favorite kind. The logo is lightly embossed in the white ceramic (let's hope it's ceramic).
PS. I cannot believe I forgot to upload this yesterday. I took it in the morning and was out and about the whole day long. Lesson learned. :)

Back to October for today's start of the working week photo and also back to the "iron curtain" (thanks Janet) for possibly one final time too. I do really like this ensemble from my Thursday night outing last month, as its tough to go wrong with a (faux) leather skirt and a pretty top. I'm off out again tonight to my friends for a spot of tea and some lovely company. As for the title of this particular photo I'll leave it to your imaginations as to what the gold actually is 😉 Catch you all on the other side 💋

My second attempt in product photography. This time I choose to play with chocolate a little bit, since it was that valentines day :)
Strobist info: I put my Camera (5D MArk II) on a tripod so I can later on compose the final image from more pictures. On camera left side is one YN560II speedlite with snoot to keep the light only on the cups. Than I put a black panel and put another YN560II behind it to light the background. On camera right side is just one white grid to bounce some light back to the cups. You can see the diagram here DIAGRAM

Strobist: 430ex at half power pointed to the white background behind the glass. Black card between the glass and the flash that's created black background. For better rimming in the bottom part glass was placed on glossy transparent plastic.
