"It is the harmony of the diverse parts, their symmetry, their happy balance; in a word it is all that introduces order, all that gives unity, that permits us to see clearly and to comprehend at once both the ensemble and the details."
Henri Poincare

siamo chiusi in casa da lunedi'... e sembra non voler smettere di nevicare! la Basilicata è sommersa, neve ovunque, uffici e scuole chiuse... tutto fermo come in un incantesimo... e dopodomani, compio 40 anni... :)
we have been snowbound, at home since last Monday... and it seems like it won't stop snowing! there's a lot of snow everywhere here in Basilicata, schools and offices are closed... everything is still as if under a spell... and next Sunday... I'll be 40 :)
The first round is on the me.
I haven't been on-line much the last four or five days...hope to make it around everyone's streams this evening. Have a great day!
Hannah took great joy in filling each of these party cups with different things (and stacking them all in front of the kitchen door!) It made a great photo from above.

Daily Dog Challenge 2758. "Get the Blues"
As luck would have it, I was just practicing with the boys on "Find It" earlier today using these exact cups.
In the end, I switched to a rag as neither dog seemed to "get" how to knock a cup over, although watching them push one around the room was rather amusing.
119 Pictures in 2019 - #88. "Seeing Double"
The logical choice would have been a picture of the boys, but honestly, they don't look that much alike.
So... you get cups.

No wind on this morning on the Carrizo Plain - what a joy to work on the wildflowers. Cream cups are among my favorites and this field was really humming. ;-)
Palomino Cup Fungus / peziza repanda (?) Garden, Derbyshire. 08/11/24.
Possible Palomino Cup Fungus I found growing on a weed suppressant mat in the garden. It was a sizeable clump, measuring approx 7ins at its widest point. A first time sighting of this species for me.
The smooth brown upper surfaces, wrinkled cup centres, minutely fuzzy under surfaces, thin brittle flesh and single short stem attachment are characteristics which all point towards Palomino Cup Fungus, though a spore sample would be needed to be absolutely certain.
