Laying together on the bed, the boys watched the morning routine pass them by.

Winter is the best time to cuddle up... how nice it would be young again and lie besides mom ... but as we grow up and move for work ... somewhere that innocence is lost

Our Daily Challenge - "Cuddly":

You seriously did not think I could post anything besides my sweet Abigail, right? But I only get to see her once a week, so I'm several days late on this challenge. Abigail is far more cuddly than Hannah ever was. She is MOST happy when she is in someone's arms! She was so much fun today! Very engaging...flirting with me every time I poked my head out from behind the camera. lol

Az and Femme cuddle under a blacklight. I miss these guys. They're Arizona bark scorpions. Formerly known as Centruroides exilicauda, they're now back to the original Centruroides sculpturatus name, after being split into two separate species. The Baja California bark scorpion, being the "newer" species, gets the newer C. exilicauda name, while the "older" Arizona bark scorpion gets its old name back.

You should NEVER leave a blacklight on a scorpion long-term. The intense UV rays will eventually kill the nocturnal animal. Some pet stores market scorpion habitats with blacklights because they look cool, but they don't tell you the facts. Long-term blacklight exposure will stress them out. They like it dark.

Here they are featured on UglyOverload.com on June 24, 2007:

This one turned out really nice. Getting her to stand still and look away without moving her head to see what I was doing was a bit difficult, but in the 10 or so that I snapped off, this one turned out really well.

Why A Favorite?

Well, first of all, she's my daughter. That in it's self is reason enough, but I chose this particular one from the 200 or so shots I've posted with her as the subject because of the expression on her face and the mood that I pick up from the photo. I also really like the lighting.

this guy is my dance partner and also cuddle partner. always feel good when he is around

they fell asleep on the couch together. this is the sort of sister/brother bonding moment greenleaf has been waiting for her whole life.

I haven't done a lot of this lately. And frankly, guys just look like dorks with no woman to complete the pair.

James and Denise cuddle up with the blanket Cathy made.

(Best viewed large) After they got off their motorbike and doffed their biker clothes, they hugged tightly for a while. It was sweet and I did feel a bit guilty for taking this picture with the rearview mirror, but I wanted to remember the moment..

This is more of a snapshot...but the only photo I took for the day! :-)

This is a mother Sea Otter with her cub, photographed at Zeballos on the north west coast of Vancouver Island. They were wiped out on Vancouver Island by the fur trade but were reintroduced a few years ago from Alaska. They are now thriving and spreading, and are not hunted, but are still very wary of humans so will not allow a close approach. They spend their whole life in the water, never coming ashore, and mothers remain in physical contact with their babies for several months. Usually the female lies on her back and the cub sits on her chest but these two seemed to be cuddling.
