there's no way in hell that i'm turning on the oven. this was dinner and it was so good. recipe here
flowers! aloe plant! 4 head of lettuce, cucumbers (and extra too), 3 beats, 2 bundles of chard, cauliflower, and TWENTY FOUR EARS OF CORN.
Some of the veggies I got today from 2 local organic farms: Shundahai (Mansfield CT) and Tobacco Road (Lebanon CT)
pesto (made with basil from my fire escape and spinach from Garden of Eve) on top of chicken, topped with mozzarella. side of warmed tomatoes and steamed green beans
my first CSA box from Highcross Farms! I'm signing up for next year, but ordered a "Harvest Box" as a preview. All the kale that turned into crispy Kale came from here - I never tried Tuscan Kale before, and was delighted to have the opportunity.

This was a good haul! Here's what we got this week from BC Gardens:
- a cabbage
- braising greens
- green beans
- wax beans
- dragon tongue beans (those are the same ones that mystified me last week)
- patty pan squash
- a costata zucchini
- cherry tomatoes
- a bell pepper
- another pepper that looks like a serrano
- snow pea pods
