Much like Bigfoot, it's the lack of forensic evidence that hurts this, though there is some pointing to bears being mistaken for yeti.

I hadn't found out more about our resident young prodigy, but something still seemed off about her. I couldn't place it, but I had a feeling that it could be dangerous. So I pulled a few strings of my own; I had her transfered to my squad. That way, I could keep an eye on her, and I trusted Cryptid and Klip to take care of her if she tried something. That's probably paranoid of me, but i don't like loose ends. Potentially dangerous, sniping, loose ends. So, this is how we ended up here, raiding an Urag outpost in the dead of night. This was a major high-risk operation, any screw-ups would result in disaster and probable death. We were here trying to recover some valuable intel (which we weren't even sure existed), and deal as much damage to the Urag vehicle depot while we were here. breaking in was a piece of cake, almost too easy. Which worried me, more than a little. Normally, Urag sentries were highly alert, and reported suspicious behavior liberally. And I hate to say it, but the new folks weren't exactly masters of stealth. But still, no alarm had been raised. I dismissed my worries, and continued. We were following Cryptid, who was being careful and checking around the corners of the buildings we hugged. I heard a creak above our heads, and raised my hand. We all forced ourselves deeper into the shadows cast by the roof overhang; there was a sentry walking right above us. I heard more creaks, as the sentry walked away. We let out the breaths that we had been unconsciously holding, and continued on. Finally, we reached the command building. The Urags had built their outpost in the remains of an old town, using the exterior of the remaining buildings as a front to their own structures. Their command center had been built quite conveniently in the ruins of the City Hall. It too, seemed too easy to break in to. We made our way to their analog of a computer mainframe. Quite clearly, we saw a removable memory cube in the mainframe, marked with the Urag's red official paint. That had to be the intel. Cryptid grabbed it, and we headed to the door from which we entered. Cryptid opened it... and walked right into an Urag. Not hesitating, I fired a round above his shoulder, and into it's forehead. It fell, clearly dead. However, we also heard the shouts of several Urags upstairs. Almost immediately after that, an alarm began to sound. Cryptid grabbed my shoulder, and pointed to the ventilation shaft. I understood what he meant, but it wouldn't work. Not for all of us, at least. At that moment, I knew what I had to do. I told him, "Bug out. We need to get that data to Command. Take the kids, and go. I'll hold them off long enough."
He considered this for a moment, and nodded. He understood. I overturned a desk for use as cover, and he removed the over of the shaft. He gave me one last salute, and crawled into the shaft. Klip followed suit. Anna lingered for a moment afterwards, and approached me. Her lips briefly brushed mine through the bandana, and then she was gone. I heard the shouts of the approaching Urags, and I steadied my aim on the door. As an afterthought, I pulled out a grimy picture from one of my pockets. In it, was an old picture of my wife and son. As the Urags approached, I felt oddly calm. I knew that whatever happened next, I would be at peace...

Window Installation at Bear and Bird Gallery -- 160 Jay Street in Schenectady, New York -- October 2022.
We asked our old artist friend Skot Olsen, who now lives in Portland, Oregon and works as a tattoo artist - to do some silhouette illustrations of the creatures he creates. He provided us with a great trove of options so we could put together this fun window installation at our Jay Street location!
All of the illustrations are by Skot, but the window itself was laid out and built by me and my family! Brenda at Truly Yours Custom Framing in Glenville, NY helped out with a couple of the cut outs too!
We hope you got to see it in person and enjoy it!

The Goatman is a hominid cryptid associated with the state of Maryland in the USA. It is described as a hybrid creature; part man and part goat.[1] Some claim it is a relative of Bigfoot. Its appearance is similar to the satyrs or the god Pan of Greek mythology, or to the Devil.
The Goatman of Maryland is often associated with St. Mark the Evangelist school, in the back of the yard where an unknown "house" lies in Prince George's County, and with the nearby Glenn Dale Hospital, the former site of a state tuberculosis sanatorium. It is reported to have attacked a number of witnesses and to have damaged property.[2] It has also been reported to have killed family pets.
A monumental robotic light sculpture, CRYPTID exists as a vibrant anomaly in contrast to contemporary automata, sharing a presence both radiant and reserved.

Old Man Winter like the elfish creature Jack Frost, is a personification of winter, sometimes also called Father Winter. He may be an alternative older name for Father Christmas and has been identified with the Old English god Woden.
Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is purportedly an ape-like creature that inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term "sasquatch" is an anglicized derivative of the word "Sésquac" which means "wild man" in a Salish Native American language.
The Yeti or Abominable Snowman is an ape-like cryptid said to inhabit the Himalayan region of India, Nepal and Tibet. The names “Yeti” and “Meh-Teh” are commonly used by the people indigenous to the region, and are part of their history and mythology. Stories of the Yeti first emerged as a facet of Western popular culture in the 19th century. The scientific community generally regards the Yeti as a legend, given the lack of conclusive evidence, yet it remains one of the most famous creatures of crytozoology. The Yeti may be considered a sort of parallel to the Bigfoot/Sasquatch of North America.

It was interesting to shoot this man-like illusion created by days of ice crystals collecting on everything exposed in the outdoor environment. I was about 500 feet from this “point of interest.” Before I zoomed in to this line of trees, I actually thought it was a person or some kind of animal standing still for a moment. Being surrounded by the dark recess in the trees gave the object the added illusion that it was emerging from a cave. However, it didn’t move at all for the longest time and because of that, my suspicions grew to consider that it must be something else entirely. With the shape being so suggestive, I couldn’t resist taking the shot of whatever it was. The "figure" is approx. 6 feet tall. Brought to mind the old saying: “Believe nothing what you hear and half what you see.” In this case, how very true!
What does any of this have to do with the festive season of Christmas or the Winter Solstice? Why, absolutely nothing!
Happy festivals to all and may you have health and good fortune in the new year!
Pygmy Elephants are cryptids, reported to be living in both Africa and Asia. The African Pygmy Elephant, described as Loxodonta pumilio, is currently considered to be a tiny morph of the African Forest Elephants (L. cyclotis); see Debruyne et al. (2003).
The Borneo Elephant (Elephas maximus borneensis) is also called "Pygmy Elephant." This elephant, inhabiting tropical rainforest in north Borneo (east Sabah and extreme north Kalimantan), was long thought to be identical to the Asian Elephant and descended from a captive population. In 2003, DNA comparison revealed them to be probably a new subspecies[1][2]. In August 2007 it was reported that there are probably not more than 1,000 pygmy elephants left in Sabah, after a two year study by the World Wildlife Fund. [3]
The term Pygmy Elephant should not be confused with "dwarf elephant" which is used for a number of extinct species of elephants that evolved their size due to island dwarfing.

The Saddle-billed Stork (Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis) is a large wading bird in the stork family, Ciconiidae.
It is a widespread species which is a resident breeder in sub-Saharan Africa from Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya south to South Africa, and in The Gambia, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and Chad in west Africa.
This is a close relative of the widespread Asian Black-necked Stork, the only other member of the genus Ephippiorhynchus.
Characteristics
The Saddle-billed Stork breeds in forested waterlands and other floodlands in tropical lowland. It builds a large, deep stick nest in a tree, laying one or two white eggs weighing about 146g each. It does not form breeding colonies, and is usually found alone or in pairs. The incubation period is 30-35 days, with another 70 - 100 days before the chicks fledge.
This is a huge bird that regularly attains a height of 150 cm (5 feet) and a 270cm (9 feet) wingspan. The male is larger and heavier than the female, with a range of 5.1-7.5 kg, the female is usually between 5 and 6.9 kg. It is probably the tallest, if not the heaviest, of the storks.
Females are distinctly smaller than the males. It is spectacularly plumaged. The head, neck, back, wings, and tail are iridescent black, with the rest of the body and the primary flight feathers being white. The massive bill is red with a black band and a yellow frontal shield (the “saddle”). The legs and feet are black with pink knees.
Sexes are identically plumaged except that the female has a golden yellow iris, while the male's is brown. Juveniles are browner grey in plumage.
Saddle-billed Stork with crab lunch
They are silent except for bill-clattering at the nest.
Like most storks, these fly with the neck outstretched, not retracted like a heron; in flight, the large heavy bill is kept drooping somewhat below belly height, giving these birds a very unusual appearance to those who see them for the first time. To experienced birdwatchers on the other hand, this makes them easily recognizable even if seen from a distance. It has been suggested that due to the large size and unusual appearance in flight, this species is the basis for the "Big Bird" and Kongamato cryptids.
Diet / Feeding
The Saddle-billed Stork, like most of its relatives, feeds mainly on fish, frogs and crabs, but also on small birds and small reptiles. They move in a deliberate and stately manner as they hunt, in a similar way to the larger herons.
Relation to Ancient Egyptian culture
This bird is represented in an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph (Gardiner G29) that had the phonetic value "ba":
Its description is often erroneously given as "jabiru", which is actually this species' Latin American relative. The Third Dynasty pharaoh Khaba incorporated this hieroglyph in his name (Jiménez Serrano 2002).
