Connecticut Southern Railroad train CSO-4 is northbound on Amtrak's Springfield Line main near MP 48 crossing the Connecticut River on the Warehouse Point Bridge crossing from the town of Windsor Locks into Enfield behind an SD40-2 and GP38. The 1470 ft long double track bridge (though only one track is in service) dates from 1903 when the circa 1866 iron bridge was rebuilt by the New Haven Railroad, but even that structure was the second one on the site replacing a wooden Howe truss that first crossed here in 1843 by NH predecessor Hartford and Springfield Railroad.
The Genesee and Wyoming owned Connecticut Southern is a small but busy shortline that dates from 1996 when then Rail America acquired the freight rights on Amtrak's line and the so called Hartford cluster from Conrail. As the length of this freight attests, business is robust on the present day CSO.
Interestingly this train was not at all what I had planned for my Friday. My goal was to chase New England Central train 608 back south to Palmer with the matched pair of blue and gold GP38s. They had been together on the Willmantic based job for two weeks and the last time I tried on Christmas Eve they were delayed for six hours and I was unable to wait. Today was sunny and clear and they were looking to turn back south nice and early, which is exactly what they did....except with one catch. They dropped one of the two units in Palmer and returned back south with only one, long hood forward no less! It was hardly worth chasing that so I went to see what else I could find in the area besides CSXT.
This was a reasonable consolation prize, and there was more to follow making for a decent day despite missing out on my main goal yet again.

•The truth about Yosemite: www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Sexual-Harassment-Common-in...
In yesterday’s post (Trust) I spoke of this bobcat that crossed the road and didn’t give me a second thought. I jumped out of my Jeep when I saw it on the other side. It was walking down a pathway on the other side of the road; I jumped out, started walking towards it, the cat looked up at me then walked towards me, crossed the road right in front of my Jeep. There was a car driving right towards us and then stopped. I’m glad they did, because I wasn’t about to move. You can read the rest of the story in yesterday’s post (Trust).
A few statements I made yesterday resonated, so I thought I’d repeat them.
While in the woods with this deer; I was thinking how trustful she was and the bobcat that crossed the road, so close. The wildlife in Yosemite has gained more trust than many of the residents and employees, which reside here. These residents and employees are fed propaganda, lies and innuendos about a specific person, which is then Targeted. This propaganda leads to paranoia in many; persuading many to perform immoral and illegal acts of stalking, harassing, bullying, illegal entry, Workplace Mobbing and Gangstalking.
Help us bring Social Change through Photography; bring awareness and stop Gang Stalking, Community Based Stalking and Workplace Mobbing. We are trying to make these changes one community at a time. So, here is a contact page for Yosemite National Park: www.nps.gov/yose/contacts.htm. Once on this page; click on ask a question or make a comment. This is your National Park please take the time to contact them; tell them to put a stop to Gang Stalking, Community Based Stalking and Workplace Mobbing.
These immoral and illegal acts are allowed in Yosemite National Park by Law Enforcement, encouraged and performed by its Contractors and residents.

Stepped out of my house one recent day, took time to look up, and my eye was caught by this compo. I played with the blue slightly, though it was a bright blue sky.
We're counting down to the birth of our son which should happen in 10 days or less. It can't happen a moment too soon as far as the BH is concerned!
Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start. Thanks as always for the visits, faves and comments!!!
Crossing the street in Vietnam proved to be very challenging. There are very few traffic lights and those painted lines on the street don't mean much. Your best bet is to just start walking slow and let the motorbikes swerve around you. Any sudden movements could be painful.
CSXT B786 has just passed Dundee Feeds in Huntingdon with CSXT 2622 & CSXT 6095 for power. They will run around their train a bit ahead before shoving three hoppers into the spur behind them.
