A project I completed in only 4 days for Magic City: www.magiccity.de

This work is titled "Urban Exploration". I tried to combine creative drawing and abstract painting. The giant drawing shows elements about city and city life. The colorful abstract painting contrasts a lot with the black and white drawing. There is a fashion mannequin in front of the painting with patterns similar to those in the background which makes it look almost invisible when seen from a specific point of view (Flesh and Acrylic).
this is another image of the sunset across tañon strait from sta. filomena, alegria, cebu, philippines on october 10 2008. it was derived from an original photograph shot by the artist. this effect was obtained with the use of the twirl distortion filter. the image also underwent the crosshatch filter and was texturized in medium-fine sandstone.

Another illusion... Sort of an introduction to my next series entitled
"Chess Art" with some optical illusions, strong perspectives and
vanishing points... I took this photo a few days ago and also made
the rough sketch. Thanks for your constructive comments!

Grasp the Mental Game
A poem by Peter S. Quinn
Life is like a chess play
One by one they move:
Pawns to a Queen – away
Make attack to improve!
Square to square advance
Grasp the mental game
Give the King his chance
Have a patience to be tame
Carefully observe adversary
Wrong move can’t be adjust
Chess art is like all military
No one out there really to trust
“I am... a mushroom; On whom the dew of heaven drops now and then.”
..its really very interesting to take worm eye view shots, seems like totally another Fantasy World, dat little mashrooms reminds of The Smurfs movie, released last week.

Sometimes, you find the key to your problems in the dark moment. There is always a magic door and a key near you. The light and the solution aren't far. Sad events can be a source of enrichment too. The bird I drew isn't an eagle or a parrot, it's a crow. Model: Caroline Madison.

Hand built by a single craftsman, with 76 genuine Swarovski crystal buttons. Precise hand-folded diamond tufts and pleats on the arm curls. Double piping all around beautifully follows the frame and hides an extra row of reinforcement. Fabric is "Bijou Silver", a satin-finish fabric with fine black crosshatching and a surprisingly soft, silky hand.

A quick and simple improvisation made a few days ago in the
countryside. I just felt like climbing on some giant cloud and forget
everything. Where is Heaven located? Higher always higher!!!!!!!!
This sketch is, in some way, related to that other one.

Stairway To The Sky
A poem by Katie Gabrielle
stairway stairway
to the sky
way above me
floating by
clouds like candy
cotton white
fluffy, dandy
silky, bright
how's the view
from way up high
stairway, stairway
in the sky
the view from here
will make you cry

This pastoral autumn scene is along a backroad near Manchester, not all that far from where I grew up. I took my photo on October 20, 2017 while passing by and gave the image a crosshatch treatment in PS Elements.

This huge rugby ball went around the world in the lead-up to the 2011 Rugby World Cup. It ended up in Christchurch as a kind of consolation prize as after all the earthquakes there was no World Cup games held here and we did become the World Champions. The 100% Pure NZ was originally black letters, but after it was bought to be the top of the Town Ball bar and restaurant, they were removed. As you can see their traces can still be seen.
The trophy is a replica of the Webb Ellis Cup. It was originally constructed out of aluminium in Christchurch. The 7m high structure weighs 1.8 tonnes and was built in two halves each of four quadrants. It nearly never got completed as the numerous earthquake aftershocks that were occurring in Christchurch at the time were not making it easy to cut the metal with a laser cutter. It appeared at the opening ceremony in Auckland.

Evolution
A poem by Katie Gabrielle
Evolution
Revolution
Faith
Science
Uptight
Upright
Who's right?
Who do we think we are?
Created by
Science or
God?
Are we allowed to know?
In the shadows
Mankind is blessed
Or lined up with the beasts?
Are we above the rest
Science or religion
Puts faith to the test.

Alone on a strange and endless podium...
Abstraction, simplicity and anamorphosis. Each cylinder
of this giant podium somehow symbolizes a challenge in life.
I made this new project recently in my studio in Belgium,
because I really love geometric abstraction. You can view

“Aboriginalities" immerses you into the fascinating universe of Aboriginal painting – an art form that is both ancestral and contemporary, always rooted in spirituality. Far more than a simple physical and sensory experience, Aboriginal art invites us to rethink our connection to the earth and the universe.
As a window on the spiritual, Aboriginal art tells the story of the creation of the world – called "Dreamtime"* – and the original link between humans and the earth. The numerous motifs (dotted lines, spirals, zigzags, crosshatching...) are passed down from generation to generation by members of the same community, concealing centuries-old secrets as well as a map of their territory.
This ancestral and highly symbolic art form was originally concealed: drawn in the sand or applied on rocks on territories forbidden to laypersons. But in the early 1970s, amidst struggles for the recognition of an Aboriginal identity, the Papunya Tula community translated their cultural practices and symbolic knowledge through paint. Using non-traditional methods borrowed from Western culture (acrylics, brushes, cardboard and later canvas), the indigenous people of Australia found a modern way to express their cultural, political, social and economic struggles.

Hurry Before I Disappear
A poem by Katie Gabrielle
Sing me a down yonder
Of notes I can ponder
Throw me a bone
I feel so alone
Why don't you phone?
I can't eat
I can't sleep
I sing this one last tune
Hoping you'll throw me a bone
Pick up the phone
Or drive on thru
Just remember to pick up
A happy meal
and thick rich chocolate
Shake or two
In this great yonder
There are thoughts
I must ponder
Throw me a bone
I feel so alone
Out in this great wide yonder
Get me a meal
It's no big deal
But throw in a prize
Before I dyze....
ouch it hurts to be me
Hurry before I disappear

Zion National Park is filled with beautiful geological cross-bedding. A great example of this is Checkerboard Mesa. These formations are made up of ancient sand-dunes petrified back into solid sandstone from the milennium. More recent years brought significant weathering from winds and sand particles to create the horizontal bedding. The vertical lines are cracks from the region's uplift which were further worn by water flowing down from the top of the mesa. Quite incredible to see the current result of this whole process.
"Woven Palm Tree Bark BW" by Patti Deters. The bark on the trunk of this tropical Cabbage Palm (Sabal palmetto) is latticed with a woven crosshatch texture and is one of Florida's state trees. The palmetto palm tree grows up to 100 feet tall and is hurricane resistant. The bark is always eye-catching because it is so unique. Presented here as a vertical black and white, the geometric crisscross of the bark looks a bit rough, but is actually smooth to the touch. Interesting fact: The cabbage palm is one of the hosts for Monk Skipper caterpillars. If you like outdoor nature photography, please see more plants, botanicals, and other flora at patti-deters.pixels.com/featured/woven-palm-tree-bark-bw-....
