Here’s the set of spinoff minifigures that I’ve had planned since Captain America: Civil War was released…almost a month ago now holy crap. I'll be doing the showcase sometime this week, and then it’ll finally be time to get started on the X-Men Apocalypse figures!
Currently not able to finish a new Cyberpunk post due to the mail losing my package, so I finally got around doing some pirate stuff again.
- September 2021
My custom Captain America Civil War crossbones. I started working on him way back when we first got leaked set photos. Also, I'm hoping iron man will be up later.
Crossbones:
His legs are from SY bucky with additional mads. His torso is covered by the armor. The armor was from lego Agents which I painted. The arms have various lego parts glued on and the fists have some parts as well. His helmet is a modified Ultron helmet. His head is from a SW snowtrooper.
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT IF YOU FAVE
This shoot was the prize for the winner of the Bow and Crossbones Face of 2012 competition run earlier this year, voted for by you!!
First off, a MASSIVE thanks to Paul and Jane for allowing us to use their fantastic home for this shoot.
Ireally appreciate it mate and I hope you like the results!
Always amusing and a pleasure to catch up, especially in such fantastic surroundings as the Tiki Palace!
The wonderful model is Maria ( www.myspace.com/cherryonfire ) and the accessories are of course
by Cam at Bow and Crossbones ( bowandcrossbones.com/ ).
Hair by Kessie Hodges and make-up by Betty Flowers.
Technical Info:
Canon 40D bodies with Sigma 30mm F/1.4 EX DC HSM, Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 OS EX DC HSM lenses.
Off camera Canon 430EX and EXII flashguns and remote triggers. A mix of shoot-thru white and silver brollies and stofen diffusers.
Here’s a bit of a quick Marvel fig barf, using something newer pieces and such.
Bottom row, L-R:
Doctor Doom: Had the idea to use this torso/legs for him, although Dylan beat me to it awhile back.
Iron Man MK 50: Gave him the new helmet, shoulder armor, and this trans-blue piece for one of his weapons he uses.
Crossbones (Civil War): I’ve nearly perfected my fig of him, just need a better custom helmet.
Top row, L-R:
Kraven the Hunter: Not much to say
Mantis: Someone used these Aquaman CMF legs on Instagram, can’t remember who though. Also gave her LBM Ivy arms and a modded Hermione head.
Lemme know what you think! This is probably one of my favorite groups of figs I’ve made in awhile :)
Wanna know the sad part? This was the figure I spent most of my time on compare to others. Turns out, he was the disappointing thing in the movie. Fml....
However, he does look cool in the movie and he wasn't like Jimmy Olsen in BVS (directed by Hack Snyder) where they just kill him off with no substance or anything to drive our characters forward so that's a plus
This minifigure will be submitted in the MAynifigures contest shit I kept hearing
About this figure, yeah this figure was entirely sculpted except for the base of his helmet and his gauntlets
I used a flash cowl and purposely painted white blobs to stimulate weathering patterns (did that for the "x" too). Sculpting around this was pretty hard and it is kinda noticeable to see the separation. Sculpting clay around a different material is hard to sooth out, I still don't know how Dylan does it with his figures...
Torso is all sculpted with procreate and painted by me. his shoulders which includes ammo clips and shotgun shells are all sculpted and painted.
His legs have shin guards, kneepads and a gun holster and sculpted and painted.
His gauntlets are probably the weakest point but I think it's fine for the way it's meant to be. Most people sculpted in gauntlets and make them super detailed but they never seem to be removable. I made mine simple and try to figure out a way to make them easily removable. It's all lego handcuffs with stings attached to a rod piece. That way, you can choose to remove them or just leave them there. No knifes because they are pointless to me. I wasted time working on this figure a lot longer than the amount of screen time generic disposable villain number #46 got
This figure is probably my best figures in my rushed civil war minifig series next to falcon, war machine, and spiderman. Rest are either decent or meh
Crossbones will be in my wave 3 civil war showcase along with Nemo, agent hottie, general mgf, and the BGF so stay tuned
Popularly known as the "Skull and Crossbones Nebula, NGC 2467 is an active star-forming region in the constellation Puppis. The presence of large hydrogen gas clouds are a key ingredient required for the creation of new stars.
Observations of the many stars in NGC 2467 suggest that they may be more a superposition of loose groups of stars at different distances than a coherent open cluster of stars energizing the nebula. I guess it really depends on one's perspective in the universe, but from here, I think it looks awesome.
If you look towards the right off centre, there is what appears to be a bright gas wall. The newly formed stars are slowing devouring this glowing rift. Moving towards the centre, there are many dark dust lanes obscuring parts of the nebula. Within these areas, the process of forming new stars is taking place. Several Bok globules can be seen as well (these are dark globule structures). They are very similar to those found in the Running Chicken Nebula. Infrared detectors can cut through the dust in these areas and create amazing images of the process of newborn stars. Unfortunately, my camera does not allow me to look into these areas.
My aims with this project were fairly simple. I wanted to highlight the dust lanes and bok globulus within the nebula. These areas simply add a layer of depth into the final result. The RGB palette is my preference in astrophotography. But I really wanted the extra details available in the narrowband data that I captured. Merging such different data sets into a single image that resembles a traditional RGB rendition can be challenging. Hopefully, the result isn’t too far off base and pleasing to look at.

Started working on a crossbones custom yesterday and then I decided to make some other cap villains I just thought of at the moment.
L-R: zemo( military look from that one civil war scene), crossbones( much better than the last one I made also if ur wondering why he has green pants it’s just to break up the black, also the head design is inspired by some crossbone custom I saw online), Batroc( CATWS appearance), red skull( trench coat piece)
What i see so far of Civil War Crossbones i really like his costume and tried to make a decent custom of him.
'76050 - Crossbones' Hazard Heist' contains Falcon's Redwing however as many have mentioned it's a little big relative to the one we see in Captain America: Civil War (2016.) Upon purchasing the set today for the Minifigures I decided to tweak a couple of aspects of the design included in the set.
Firstly '4215387 - Banner 26 Deg. M. 2 Holdere' and 6075075 - End Ridged Tile 1X2/45° have been flipped over. I've added three additional pieces which aren't included in the set however they really add character to the model, it's the pointy nose detail as seen in the movie and promotional images. I think it could have done with some printing on the the grey wings.
Additional Elements Required:
1x 4625146 - Plate 1X1 W/Tooth
1x 6092597 - Plate 1X2 W. 1 Knob
1x 4539097 - Plate 1X2
The cool part is you use cover Falcon's wings with both 6102357 - Plate W. Bow 2X2X2/3 and 4539097 - Plate 1X2 to imitate the rear torso printing. This way it's less bulk for the Minifigure to hold and its more compact.
What a great surprise this afternoon, when one of my nieces showed up with a "cheese log" she'd made in the shape of a skull and crossbones, complete with crackers and a very decorative plate to serve it all on!
Here it is, Front & Center on our kitchen island, along with some of our other Halloween decorations, and yes, those are fortune cookies, complete with creepy, spooky and ever so silly fortunes!
So, now, we get to follow Flickr Rule #1, and eat our edible prop! In all honesty, my sister and I had nearly eaten half the cheese log before I got a chance to edit this shot! LOL!
Happy Halloween to all, and hope you get some yummy treats, and no tricks, this Halloween, too!
HMM...... got a couple of choices for the 10/29 #macromondays theme of #halloween #trickortreat . methinks this is the colorful 'artistic' one....... when one gets costumed up, a hat and/or a mask are among the essential accessories
End of Season shot of the Pirate Ship pleasure boat returning to Bridlington Harbour,Just two crew members and two Passengers onboard,
Skull and Crossbones Nebula which looks to me more like a Fish is in the constellation Puppis and is a star-forming region with an age of just a few million years, located at 4420 LY distance.
Captured with RGB camera and Monochrome camera with Oxygen and H-alpha filters and processed in Pixinsight / Photoshop.
Finally made time to take pictures of the Crossbones figure I got for Father's Day. I actually snapped a series of photos using Crossbones, Hawkeye, and the retro Cap. Also messed with some lighting angles in the Abandoned House pop-up.
I definitely like the Crossbones figure a lot, it looks comic accurate and has good presence. I'm surprised at the fine lines achieved in the paint scheme on his face, especially considering that far simpler things in ML have been a disaster.
My Hawkeye review isn't so positive but I'll leave that until another post. 😂

Skull and crossbones, a symbol of death and especially as a memento mori on tombstones, meaning 'remember you must die'
just done some custom from the Captain America 3 : Civil War and I think they all turns out pretty sick :)
from L to R :
Black Panther : a pretty simple minifigure but turns out really great the body was Zod's
Crossbones : just thought the bootleg Zane's mask will be a good idea for the helmet and it turns out SICK!
Winter Soldier : try to make this custom for like....1 Y3AR!!! but it never just like the way I want....but after the trailer....I got some ideas!so here's it is!
Falcon : didn't painted lots of things on him but turns out great ;)
NGC 2467, often referred to as the "Skull and Crossbones Nebula," is a vibrant star-forming region located in the constellation Puppis. It lies roughly 13,000 to 17,000 light-years from Earth and is not a single nebula, but rather a complex collection of glowing gas, dust clouds, and young, massive stars. The intense ultraviolet radiation from these hot stars ionizes the surrounding hydrogen gas, causing it to emit a bright pinkish-red glow. Rich in stellar nurseries, NGC 2467 offers astronomers valuable insights into the early stages of star formation.
