Some of them look familiar; others are just plain weird. All of them are the result of selection pressure on random variation. Ticker must have heard something moving around in all that vegetation, sure hope it wasn't a snake. Here in the Sunshine State there is no shortage of snakes and other scary critters.
Butterflies and bees usually give these yellow flowers a miss, but I'm pretty certain to find other, smaller critters.

I kinda thought the holes in the hay looked like nests or dens where critters must have been. They were revealed after the barn boards were removed.

The fifth and sixth books in Jennifer’s “Our Little” series, you’ll choose either “Our Little Cuddlebug” for a girl or “Our Little Critter” for a boy. “Our Little Cuddlebug” features butterflies, ladybugs, and bright flowers. “Our Little Critter” features worms, bugs, and lots of muddy fun! Sign up for two spots in the class to make both books!! The instructor will contact you a week before the class to inquire as to your choice of books. (Past books in the series: Our Little Monkey, …Monster, …Angel, …Sweetheart).
Supplies: Adhesive, sharp scissors, your favorite inks if you’d like to ink, foam paint brush.
