Insomnia created this and a few hundred other similar shots. I'm at risk of becoming a one trick pony but i am completely stuck down the rabbit hole. Need to get better, get outside and shoot,

I found a beautiful, very small flower floating in the pool, and was going to fetch it out and discard it, but then I got the idea to freeze it and try some experimental photos. So I took the frozen flower embedded in ice, and placed it on glass. I used two flashlights to illumination the scene in the dark: one was an LED flashlight that created a bluish white-balance; the other had a warm bulb that create a warm white-balance. I took a series of shots as the ice was melting, so between the different positions of the flashlights and the melting ice, no two shots were the same.
This one had some interesting textures that make it seem as if the flower is floating through space [channeling my inner Star Trek]. :)

This is the Layered smoke plume photo used to create "Deconstruct" the previous post. Other than copy, layering and removing blemishes and boosting saturation nothing else was manipulated.
This is another Rorschach moment, ... my wife saw a panther.

..well it's the same ritual/routine the world over only now I have a totally new perspective on it after creating my toilet paper rose. Oh and yeah, I definitely suggest folding, the possibilities are endless. HMM all:)
This alien landscape was shot with a Sigma 105mm f2.8. It is actually the under side of a glass of beer with the image flipped vertically. I used a sync speedlite to illuminate the subject.

Thank you all for your kind comments, favs and views. much appreciated.
Living on the water as I do, I have the great pleasure of observing dragonflies from early spring through late fall in their many diverse shapes, colors and forms. A traditional symbol of transformation and adaptability in life in many cultures, I find them remarkable and wonderfully valuable companions as they accompany me both on land and water, always seemingly intent on keeping more annoying flying creatures at bay. There is something quite magical when a dragonfly chooses to land on your hand or shoulder...a rare experience, but one almost spiritually energizing when it occurs. They never fail to captivate me nor gain my appreciative attention.
Their numbers are dwindling now as we move into fall, the "late varieties" now enjoying their moment in the sun. I've come to know the various species and when in the season they typically arrive, eagerly anticipating that first sighting as if awaiting a prodigal. They are my friends and I already miss them.

Still finding small satisfaction in creative macro processing, I nevertheless continue to try, this mono texturized effort as a lead, followed by a color version and the SOOC in comments. The effort here was prompted by what you'll agree was a rather dull background in the original. I must admit I am still awaiting that "wow" reaction I get when looking at some of your efforts. [Definitely better larger]
I thought just taking a photo of white paper for tonights Macro Monday theme of "just white paper" would be pretty easy but 70 shots and three hours later I've settled with this one!

We are all stars in the moonlight
Dreams that are going and coming
Day of the days new and bright
Voices in winter evening humming
Life is a call and its many dreams
The flowers in bouquets on glowing
Magnet fields of passion schemes
Each on its go round and on going

Still hiding from the grey stuff, I had a second go with some oil and water but just ended up getting myself all oiled up and slippery.
But I'm being creative. Carpet cleaning tomorrow.
You don't like this do you? It's got to be landscapes hasn't it, or birds, or trains....Lego.....damned, bloody Lego.
