A SIDE MAN 5000 ADVENTURE

Darsha Hewitt et Nelly-Ève Rajotte (Canada)

Goethe-Institut

Robert Tor Russell, chief architect to the Government of India designed Connaught Place in 1932 based upon an outline by W.H. Nichollas (the committee's architect from 1913-1917).

July 1, 2017 - Designed by I.M. Pei & Partners. Architect of Record: Kung & Lee Architects Ltd. "Arguably one of Hong Kong’s most distinctive buildings, Bank of China Tower is situated in the center of the city’s skyline. At the ground level, the tower is set back from the street to create an inviting pedestrian environment that is convenient, yet secluded from urban congestion. It is surrounded by a broad promenade, and flanked by cooling water gardens intended to muffle the noise of nearby traffic. The building is known for its observation deck on the 43rd floor, which offers unique views of the city from its central vantage point.

The architects were challenged to design a distinctive regional headquarters with a grand banking hall and office space, its use divided between the bank’s operations and tenant leasing. Another challenge in designing the building was to execute the building at the required height, with the added difficulties of building on a site in a typhoon zone, and keeping within fairly tight budget constraints. The solution, involving both creative architecture and engineering, involves an asymmetrical tower that addresses both skyline and street.

Designers looked to the form of bamboo shoots—as symbols of strength, growth, and prosperity—for inspiration. The tower is comprised of four vertical shafts; it emerges from a 52-meter cube and diminishes its mass incrementally, quadrant by quadrant, until a single triangular prism remains. The faceted prism is clad in reflective glass that mirrors the changing sky.

The whole structure is supported by five steel columns at the corners of the building, with the triangular frameworks transferring the weight of the structure onto these five columns. This innovative composite structural system not only resists high-velocity winds, but also realized significant savings in construction time and materials" Previous text from the following website: www.skyscrapercenter.com/building/bank-of-china-tower/287

A great architecture for this Kindergarten school.

Sorry for being in and out for so long, and sometimes irresponsive. All you who have commented on my pictures in the recent weeks are very *very* good friends. Thanks

This is an hdr, -1,0,1, further processed using some dodge and burn. I also removed the traces of a building on the left.

I like the way the blue wall dissolves in the sky. The original building colors are very very vivid. This is a great creative architecture

The new Music City Center features include a public art collection; a 57,500-square-foot grand ballroom, which seats 6,000; and a nearly eight-acre exhibit hall. The building has environmental sustainable features that include solar panels, a green roof and the reuse of water runoff.

This wonderful photo capture would be perfect for your home or office walls or as special gift. Just drop by my main site Photo Captures by Jeffery to see it and many other photographic prints.

Bathroom has become a living space, a shower in the bedroom, furniture in the bath, TV and fireplace by the tub... The bathroom and living areas are blurring the lines. Can you comment on the trend?

King's Cross railway station, also known as London King's Cross, is a passenger railway terminus in the London Borough of Camden, on the edge of Central London. It is in the London station group, one of the busiest stations in the United Kingdom and the southern terminus of the East Coast Main Line to North East England and Scotland. Adjacent to King's Cross station is St Pancras International, the London terminus for Eurostar services to continental Europe. Beneath both main line stations is King's Cross St. Pancras tube station on the London Underground; combined they form one of the country's largest transport hubs. The transformation of King's Cross station by John McAslan + Partners (JMP) represents a compelling piece of place-making for London. The show-piece is clearly the Western Concourse - Europe’s largest single span station structure and the heart of the development, but the overall project is far more complex: an extraordinary, collaborative effort that has delivered an internationally significant transport interchange, fit for the 21st century and beyond. For more about King's Cross, please read my blog: subeersuri.blogspot.com/2019/01/kings-cross-station-londo... #kingscross #visitlondon #visitengland #londonphotography #timeoutlondon #london #nikon #visitlondonofficial #archdaily #subeersphotography #architecturephotography #architecture #world_architecture #architecture_london #architecture_view#architecture_greatshots #archilovers #archi_unlimited #architecture_view #creative_architecture#symmetry #london #architecture_london #creative_architecture #cityscape #kingskross #symmetryhunters #symmetrykillers #world_architecture #archdaily #architecture_hunter #dezeen #art #visitlondonofficial #visitengland #visitlondon #minimalism #minimalist @visitlondon
