[The album has 9 photos] This Art Moderne commercial structure is in Mena, Arkansas (Polk County). Built in 1948, it is stucco over concrete blocks. The roof is flat, covered in tar; and the foundation is of concrete. The parapet is curved and shows a hand-painted Studebaker logo, all capped with a narrow ledge. Other Art Moderne features are the curved corners and the glass blocks which either contain a pattern of red spots or reflects something inside the building (see images 8 and 9 in this set). The wraparound glass block panels contain 300 blocks each. The curvilinear showroom has 16 single vertical curved panes, allowing for plenty of light. Above this set of windows is a small ledge or overhang. The dealership had a short life span, only 14 years, closing in 1962. It has since been used before restoration as an auto garage, a dry cleaners, machine shop and restaurant. Images 3 and 10 show the contents of the showroom, which are calculated to take one back to a former time. I don't know if the building is open or not, but it commands a distinctive architectural place in Mena. It was added to National Register of Historic Places June 9, 2000 with ID #00000636. My major source of information, other than being there in person, was the National Register of Historic Places nomination form.

During 2021–2022, CC has been celebrating the 20th anniversary of our founding in 2001 and the first release of the CC licenses in 2002, successfully concluding an ambitious fundraising campaign to support programs like Open Culture, Open Climate, and Open Education, and to help ensure CC’s ongoing sustainability.
CC chapters worldwide marked the anniversary locally with events, activities, and projects in November and December 2022.
Creative Commons Nederland celebrated this with a potluck lunch. The recipes of this lunch will be bundled in a booklet that will be published with a CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
Duting the celebration the participants also looked back on 18 years CC in The Netherlands and talke about future challenges and plans.
