At L'Enfant Plaza. I had just had to hide my camera, as as security guard from whatever Government Building is to the left, had come out to tell me that photos of the building weren't allowed. I smiled and acted dumb, and he smiled and walked away. I walked down a bit and surreptitiously pulled my camera in and out of my bag several times.
This is my habit of "sneaking" my camera instead of confronting someone when they harass me. I tend to be more nervous in DC, because I never knew what crazy national security law they may actually have passed in a fit of not reading an incredible long and corrupt bill. I was unsure of my rights, and so I was intimidated when approached. In the end, I am most concerned that they will try to take my camera, and that it will be broken somehow in the process.

Burkitt’s Lymphoma, In Remission
Healing Tree, painted by Ellie’s father, took life and became whole over the same time period that Ellie was receiving aggressive chemo treatments. The tree is a symbol of strength against unseen and severe forces. Adversity gave it form and character, but the tree is healthy and vibrant, offering hope.

Desperate times call for desperate measures; or creative utilization. In studio apartment (officetel) living, one room must have multiple functions; if not, failure is inevitable. In Bizwell Officetel, there are technically two rooms, and both serve many purposes in the process of survival. The main room is segmented into regions, whose functions are similar to the those of rooms in a house. The regions of the main room include; foyer, kitchen, laundry area, dining area, library, closet, garage/stable, and bed. The adjacent room, most commonly referred to as the bathroom, doesn't have regions because that would be physically impossible in such a small space. Instead, the 'bathroom' has many functions bundled into one space. Within these confines, the user can; shower, use the toilet, cut hair, and wash a bicycle.
