This is a shot of the Milky Way along with a Man in the foreground as a pictorial representation of God's Creation (Genesis 1, 1–28). The man allows his mind to drift towards the past (up to seventy six thousand years ago) by gazing at the Milky Way.
The disk of the Milky Way is about 100,000 light-years in maximal diameter; Earth is located 25,800 light-yrs from the galactic core: It takes the light of the Milky Way's most remote stars 75,800 years to reach the stargazer's eyes; he now looks at the stars as they were in the past (so he looks into the past). There are four hundred billion (4 × 10¹¹) stars in the Milky Way.

Mount Bromo and neighboring peaks emerge at sunrise through a lake of fog. Mount Bromo is an active volcano crater located in East Java, Indonesia. The name Bromo comes from the Javanese pronunciation of Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. Mount Bromo is one of three monolithic peaks situated in the Tengger Massif caldera in the Bromo-Tergger-Semeru National Park. At 2,392 meters tall, Mt Bromo is not among the tallest of Indonesia's mountains but its stunning beauty lies in its incredible setting. From a vantage point on Mount Penanjakan (2,770 meters above sea level), 2.5 hours from Malang. visitors from around the world come to see the sunrise over Mt Bromo.

Exhibition "Congoville" in the Middelheim open-air museum in Antwerp, Belgium.
Sven Augustijnen (1970) was born in Mechelen, Belgium, and he lives and works in Brussels. Working primarily in film and installation, Augustijnen’s practice has long been exploring political, historical, and social themes, constantly challenging the genre of the documentary and reflecting a wider interest in historiography and a predilection for the nature of storytelling.
This work is a ‘political ghost shrine’ for Patrice Lumumba (1925-1961), the first Prime Minister of the independent Congo.
Lumumba was assassinated by a coalition of Belgian, American and Katangese authorities, but to this day has still not been given a grave. The bicycle had been Lumumba’s preferred means of transportation. The sacks of charcoal and the tree to which the bicycle is attached refer to the tree against which he was executed along with two political companions, and which was probably reduced to ashes to cover all traces. But also, the piece imitates the bike riders carrying homemade charcoal, so common on contemporary Congolese roads. Augustijnen’s assemblage is titled after the airway freight number assigned to the shipment of these objects from the village in which Lumumba was assassinated to Belgium. In the end, the package never arrived. That loss, on the way from Africa to Europe, plus the seriality and anonymity of the administrative code, echo the ‘cold case’ of this murder, and in a broader sense of the Belgian-Congolese post-colonial history. My exhibition of photos and art is getting close now, so I'm trying to get organised and plan things . Today is printing off some Lino cuts to make some cards , so I need to clear the decks and tidy up before the ensuing mess . I love the printing but the cleaning up afterwards is always a nightmare. The title of the exhibition will be Reflecions , as that has been the driving vision of my photography for many years now. This reflected creation was from the days I spent floating after Susan had died, when being creative and playing on the beach helped me overcome the deafening grief and loss. Days spent floating is by Okerill River
