Created for the "Shock of the New" Group's challenge, "Urban Blue".
A common theme that's run through my entire photo stream, the undoing or even sabotage of the right angle, which, for me, represents authority, over-masculinity and a modern world's disconnect from Nature.
Right or 90 degree angles are purely a human construction, except for maybe bismuth crystals and basalt columns. There are very few places in Nature where you seem them. The cutting edge in architecture is getting away from these harsh propositions, which I think reflects a possible trend away from absolutist thinking.
Two Pano-Sabotaged images and one "straight" shot, blended, repeated, flipped and layered. Photo manipulation.
Image compiled May, 2017.

Music Link: "The Great Curve" - Talking Heads w/ Brian Eno, from their album "Remain in Light" ( 1980 ). I've used this track before but thought it very appropriate for this image.

Kew Gardens, London. By pure chance I came across this scene. A botanical garden is able to respond to a variety of desires. Here, I would assume, a profound promise or a dream of what human life could be is being created: beauty and desire surrounded by, not separated from, nature. It is a completely different matter that this promise may later on be used in a magazine for advertising purposes. The dream, the desire itself, is genuine. Ignore the date. This shot was done on the 10th of May 2021.

Created for Smile on Saturday! :-) theme of reflection on white.
The flower is from my Tree Hydrangea this summer. At whatever stage (color) you pick the flower, that's the color it stays! Picked this one just when it started getting cold out. Flowers were still green but turning deep pink. It's just been sitting in a vase for a few months and is totally dry and crunchy. ;-)
Happy Smile on Saturday! :-)

I created this Wood Carved Log & Stump with Moss Lichen. This is perfect for a Forest Scene or an overgrowth Garden. I miss the Forest and the Smell of Rain on the Earth, which it reminds me of. I hope this release brings you this sense of calmness.
