I wish I had asked more about his art, but I was rushed for time to capture the floats before the parade. This couple had hot dogs for sale and I was sure to pick one up on the way back before the parade started.
He had been making art for a while and the parade (and their house placement along the route) gave the perfect opportunity to get the word out.

Monday afternoon we just wanted to be reminded of how great is our God and he created such beautiful things around us.

As a twenty-one year old woman, I am often faced with the need and desire to fulfill two or more conflicting roles. By showing the audience only the black and white, I encourage them to reflect on their own gray areas. I use quilts, traditionally a woman's medium, as sites to talk about sexuality, self-image, and stereotypes.
