Created for Sliders Sunday. An impressive arch without the edits... I added a "tail" to make the arch look more like a dragon or serpent. See my previous post for the original. It was so much fun to discover and photograph this arch on my last hike in the remote eastern part of Joshua Tree National Park.

Thank you for 3 million views in two years (Apr-2017 to Apr-2019)

This is a scan of an original kodachrome slide. It was scanned with an Epson Pro V750, and finished up with very minor post processing work in Photoshop. The default size of this image is 2000x1250 pixels.

Clicking on the photo will enlarge it

The original image comes from my slide collection, amassed over the past 40+ years. They are a mixture of my own photographs, and those acquired through trading.

I began uploading scans into this Flickr photostream in 2017 to create an archive for the slides in my collection. Slides in particular suffer from their inability to be displayed easily and enjoyably, so this is just a place to make them more readily viewable.

Comments are welcome.

Created by Mallorcan artist Miquel Barceló. It took five years to complete, and was finished in 2006. It’s made from ceramic.

It represents the miracle of the multiplication of the bread and fishes according to the Gospel of Saint John.

Barceló produced the ceramic mural in Vietri sul Mare (Naples) in collaboration with the ceramist, Vincenzo Santoriello.

Digital painting. Created from an abstract design that was created from another one of my landscape photos. This is NOT hand painted. Doing a digital painting can be even more difficult to do than painting by hand. PLEASE do NOT post this image on other websites without my permission.

This was created in collaboration with Beth Rosengard. You can find her wonderful photostream here.

Below, you can see the original image I sent Beth, with the suggestion of producing a collaborative effort for the challenge at Hypo. Many emails later, including some backtracking of a few steps because we didn't agree on where it was headed, which of course was all a good, as it was, after all, a two-person project, we arrived at this. A lot of fun, thanks Beth!

The tradition of women wearing hats in church is a lost one, but these mantillas were very popular in the 60`s The image of Jackie Kennedy wearing one to her husband`s funeral is still with me.
