Under the hood, the Explorer EV rides on Volkswagen's MEB platform, offering rear-wheel or all-wheel drive configurations, with a projected range of up to 455 km on a single charge. It features fast-charging capability—reaching 80% in just around 25 minutes—perfect for spontaneous road trips or rugged detours.

Inside, it boasts a spacious, tech-forward cabin with a large floating touchscreen, hidden storage, and next-gen driver assistance systems. Combining sleek design with sustainable power, the 2025 Explorer EV is more than a vehicle—it’s your passport to electrified adventure.

Crave - Calvin Klein

COMFORT FOOD BY THE OCEAN

This waterside location, on Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver, has created a setting which guests clamour to enjoy. The "landmark" building with its large sunny patio and airy interior is an ideal meeting place for a romantic cocktail or gathering of family and friends.

CRAVE: where quality and care are evident in every bite of the grown-up, comfort-food menu. A delicious creation of Chef Wayne Martin (of Four Seasons Hotel executive chef background), this upscale bistro prides itself in featuring fresh, local, and often organic ingredients. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and fun while the food is creative, generous and affordable.

The vast wilderness regions of the high Sierras is quite inaccessible except for the few hundreds who hike up into the backcountry. Gentle alpine lakes gleaming in the thin air at above 10000ft, protected by the giant massifs of the spine of the Sierra Nevada while meadows and creeks and granite surfaces populate the remaining open surface. It is this thin air that draws me into it. To be away from it all high up in the mountains surrounded by nothing but nature is a feeling that I really crave for.

And the Tioga Pass road winding through the heart of the Yosemite High Sierra is one road that gets me closer to this wilderness. The highlight of that drive is perhaps the vast meadow that stretches for a couple of miles providing expansive views the cathedral range, the spine of the high Sierra and granite domes that poke up from the meadows. The two week long spring season sees vernal ponds and pools from the overflowing Tuolumne river while the short summer paints the meadows with a lush green, making quite a treat for the eyes.

And now that summer has officially started, I hope to get more into the wilderness.

Here are a couple of shots from a few weeks ago while the vernal pools in the meadows were still calm and reflecting the cloudscape forming over the eastern sky.

“From Rammy to Rotty if you look out of the window you’ll spotty standing in a field a spotty spotter?”

“They stand smiling with camera in hand in glee from Burrs to Summerseat, for a passing train they peek. In sun, rain or a light breeze if you look out of your train window, you’ll even see some in the bloody trees.”

“They are easily pleased some with the whiff of steam or the rumble of diesel, for the trains they crave, you’ll see them wave!”

“Some spotters stand by the line where they shouldn’t, but they need their fix of trains and don’t give a hoot, so for the naughty spotters the driver give them a blast on the steam whistle or a diesel phoot, but I’m sure they’d like to give the naughty spotters their size 11 boots! “

“When the day of spotting is over my old mucker, the spotters head over to the track side bar for a pint of pheasant plucker!”

And when they look like this, who wouldn't? They were even vegan and gluten free, I think! Man -- I will get SO fat if I keep going to the farmer's market. The amount of baked goods is insane! I'm pretty sure these were from Petunia's Pies and Pastries
