The New York City skyline is changed forever after hijacked airliners crashed into the World Trade Center towers and they ultimately collapsed September 11, 2001 in new York. Three planes commandeered by unknown hijackers slammed into the Pentagon and New York's landmark World Trade Center on Tuesday, demolishing the twin 110-story towers that were once the tallest buildings in the world and possibly burying thousands of people alive. A small helicopter crashed, exploded and burned in a cornfield just East of Route 1 near Quakerbridge Road in West Windsor Township earlier Saturday afternoon. All occupants were killed in the crash, which sent smoke billowing into the sky visible for miles around the scene. Fire and rescue companies from West Windsor, Lawrence, and the Mercer Airport crash truck were among the first responders. The location in the middle of a large cornfield hampered initial access to the scene and firefighting efforts. The FAA, Mercer County Medical Examiner, State Police, NTSB and other officials were also involved in the investigation into the cause of the crash.
Only one hand holding on now and some serious G-Forces to contend with. See image Crash_1-03 for the spill!
Shot with a borrowed 180mm Leica prime lens with full manual aperture and focus settings. The hardest part about shooting action with this lens is having to manual focus, but it is extremely sharp when you get it right!
Crash, the bad guy in the Effectors superhero show, flies around over the audience in his bad guy copter.
This guy crashed while riding at a Sportbike Track Time "track day". You'll be happy to know that he was able to walk away from this one with only some bumps and bruises.
The final shot in this sequence www.flickr.com/photos/bigben1861/1348235431/ was posted in the Flickr Blog, and I realized that I had never posted the rest of the sequence...so her it is. I was using a Canon 1D MkII with 400mm f/2.8 + 1.4 TC (560mm equiv), which is why the crop keeps changing.

May 29, 2008: This morning a helicopter crashed at Butterworth Hospital downtown while it was taking off. By the time I heard about it the fire was out but the burn marks are clearly visible.
Chopper 8 was flying around the site of the accident.
The aftermath of a crash involving a cycle racer and a spectator (who was crossing the road mid-race) during the Rapha London Nocturne.
The spectator was knocked out and required an ambulance. The cycle racer managed to continue to ride.
The criterium style racing takes place on a 1.3km city centre circuit and saw riders flying past Bank and St Paul’s Cathedral.
