A doll for inspiration! I bought her while in Scotland. She was made by a local grandmother in Galashiels, Scotland. The dress is made from wool fabric from the Lochcarron Woolen Mills.

I think I made my St. Patrick's Day clover garland better. I cut out more clovers with a different pattern (now there are kittys, crabs and dragonflies) and separated them all so I could mix and match patterns. I punched holes in them with a mini hole punch and strung them together with loops of green floral wire.

Benevola, Alabama
The right hand wing was constructed in 1829 on what was probably the "Lofton Place". In 1868, Eli Going moved to the Benevola community and swapped some property...he took this home down piece by piece and reassembled it "up the hill" from it's it's original site. In 1895, John Anderson Craft moved into the home and attached the left wing which held a dining room and kitchen. The kitchen previously had been separate from the original home.Betty Banks bought the home in the late 1980s and moved it to it's current location..3 miles from it's previous site. She restored the home, removed a bathroom that had been stuck onto the back side and rebuilt the chimneys that had been closed off during the years. They used as much of the original tongue in groove heart pine in restoring it. Many of the original window panes and the shutters have survived. It was listed on the NRHP in 1990. It appears to be vacant and used for some storage currently.
