I photographed this beautiful Honda CR-V for Askja in february. The light was very beautiful that morning.

A wild success since its introduction just over 20 years ago, the CR-V is a fairly notable machine in automotive history as one of the original pioneers of the small car-based SUV trend, a trend which has now grown into the crossover revolution that now dominates the market. The CR-V has much more competition than it once did, but still sells extremely well across the planet. This fourth-generation model (just recently discontinued for generation five) was built in ten nations, with well over a million sold.

This is the recently facelifted version of the Honda CR-V. Honda started with the CR-V crossover in 1997, This fourth generation was introduced in 2012.

A JDM import model either various optional bits on it. Looked to be in good enough shape bar a few dings.
I captured this mostly for the 90's / early 2000's BC vanity plate. Not many of these are seen around.

This second generation Honda CR-V is not originally sold in the Netherlands. As far as I remember models with black bumpers were not sold here. The CR-V was built in this form from 2002 until 2006.

Very common in Jamaica, despite not really being ideal for Jamaican roads as a not-particularly-rugged crossover.
Added tail spoiler, Line-X'd and mounted the roof rails, roof cross bars, Focal FO-5 wheels, tint matched the front windows to the rest of the car and Plasti-Dip'd the front grille, side window trim and rear badging.

The sixth generation of the Honda CR-V was introduced in 2022. Now it's available in Europe too. This is a version with a 2.0 litre plug-in hybrid engine, called e:PHEV by Honda.
